Is there such a thing that will automatic adjust or regulate the sound on your tv? We are so tired of blaring commercials and trying to find the remote to mute them. I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with one and what brand. How well does it work?

There is auto leveling if you use Windows Media Center through a PC with an HD TV Tuner. By default, all commercials are played at a higher volume level. I have no idea why the FCC doesnt regulate that, as they put their friggin noses into everything else that is NOT necessary, but I guess money talks with those jerkoffs.

Ok. That's good to know. I'll have to check more into that. Everlast has a PC laptop that we could hook up. I'm on a Mac.

The way commercials get away with it is they are broadcast at the maximum legal limit. You are watching a movie or TV show that has sounds of gun fire or bombs those sounds effects may reach the maximum volume and the rest of the sounds like people talking aren't as loud. Then you have a commercial break and the commercials are being broadcast at the same level as the gun fire or bomb sounds which is at the maximum legal limit.

You can report excessively loud commercials to the FCC. What they require is for you to list the commercials with the channel, date and time aired and send it to them. If those commercials are in the legal limit, then they won't do anything about them.

That's why I was trying to find something to regulate the volume.

i rarely watch live broadcasts, i download all my TV shows that I enjoy w/o commercials.
I dream of a day that they will come up with a system that will have everything pay-per-view and no commercials. if I only watch 4 hours a TV a week, I only pay for 4 hours worth, not a monthly subscription. there is enough product placement on the shows as it is.

its called a normalizer, idk where id get one tho...
