Stepmother is unhealthy

I recently had to move back in with my parents after a business I owned went under. When I came back, I discovered that my step mother drinks about a bottle of wine everyday, has become extremely obese from a poor diet, and is always fighting a cold.

She was a little overweight years ago when I was in high school, but now it really looks like to me that her boozing and unhealthy diet is going to kill her. She's never well and she just gets fatter and more tired everyday.

Is there a good way to tell her or my dad that it's overwhelming apparent to me, as an outsider, that her lifestyle is going to kill her?

I can relate, I have a stepmother who is a diabetic and on kidney dialoysis, because of her lifestyle. Just show love and concern and let her know how you feel.

no way. the only thing you could do is to suggest activities you can all do together like going for walks. maybe offer to cook for the family so you can make better food choices for everyone too. otherwise, they are grown ups and don't need anyone else to tell them what to do or not to do.
