acsm vs nasm cpt

anyone have any experience on which cpt is better, or what gyms prefer more

ACSM is by far the most respected, they are a medical certifier, they certify Orthos, PTs, etc. Personal Training is the lowest level cert they have, 10 years ago you had to have a college degree just to take their test and you had to administer a treadmill stress test as the practical, they have since dropped these requirements. The test is still very hard.

ACSM is good for three years also.

if you're just looking to work in a gym, it doesn't matter.

just make sure you can sell.

I had trainers working for me who had the big boy certs like ACSM, NASM, ACE - if they couldn't sell sessions, they were gone.

My top seller ever was a guy with that ExpertRating certification, damn good trainer too - practical experience trumps all.

If you need some sort of prestige attached to your cert, ACSM

Im studying for the NASM right now. After I get that cert Ill probably go for the ACSM. Cant wait get certified so I can actually make more then min wage cooking in a hot ass kitchen all day. Then maybe Ill be able to afford some quality GH lol
