I have had it. I am prone to it. It happens when I go on long plane trips, can be very dangerous. I have to be on blood thinners all year. Runs in the family.
I had one after surgery, it sucks having to take blood thinners.my numbers were so inconsistent even with getting my blood checked everyday and I winded up bleeding out of every crevasse of my body and was rehospitilized.
My blood was so thin , I would of lost so much blood I could of died.
It is not something to play with. Its a blood clot that forms in a vein deep inside a part of the body.
Symptoms are swelling, warmth in lower leg, tenderness often right after surgery.
In hospital setting we don't mess with them unless they are on heparin (blood thinner)
Its not uncommon after surgery
its possible, but doesn't really fit the typical presentation bro ..and usually seen in the calve area like with people after say a knee replacement surgery..if its not hot, swelling, red, or tender..probably not it
I have had them 2 times. Mine broke off and got into my lungs, first time almost killed me, 2nd time wasn't quite as bad, a lot of chest pain and hard to breathe once they get into the lungs. I too am on thinners for the rest of my life.
