Are the nutrition facts based on dried weight or cooked weight. I have always wondered this. I don't eat much pasta because I did not know, but I would like to incorporate it into my diet.
Yes but no. It can change depending upon how long the pasta is boiled for.
EX: if you cook pasta al dente it will contain less water than if you boiled the piss out of the same amount, thus making it absorb more water and effect your actual weight totals for the same amount.
Its a small/ negligable amount but if your OCD like i am its best to do in indivudial portions (by dry weight) OR cook the entire box then weigh it in its cooked entirety and then divide and portion it out according to that weight.
Like i said it may vary each time you cook depending upon heat and overall time cooking, so weigh it each time and then divide form there.
I love pasta. I like to eat it once in a week because it is a healthy food for body. Pasta contains lot of iron, carbs and minerals that are important for health.
