puppy trembling.

my six month old puppy starts trembling every now and then?? why would this be?? he is still really playfull. but he just started trembling/ shivering.. tired? cold? sick?
should i give him a smal ibuprofane?

It's normal for some breeds and young dogs. Talk to a vet before you self/dog medicate. I have 4 Chihuahuas and they shake all the time.

one of 3 reasons #1- its a small breed
#2- its sick
#3- the dog has not been properly socialized and is afraid of things

My pitbull does that. She's 4 now, and I think sometimes it's just nerves or when she's excited. usually in the car I'll notice it or when we are pulling into a parking lot or somewhere she knows that we're getting out. I wouldn't be too worried about it. She's as healthy a dog can get (I breed pits and she's the athlete out of my bunch) no health problems, very sociable and excitable.

please do not give your puppy an ibuprofin without consulting a vet..... you wouldnt give your baby one without taking em to the doctors.

If the dog is otherwise acting healthy/normal it is probably nerves. Socialization and/or desensitizing the dog to whatever is making it nervous will help but bad nerves are genetic and will always be part of the dog's mental makeup.

It's nerves. This puppy is still a baby and they tremble even if they are happy they will do this. As they grow they will grow out of it.

Not to sound like a flamer but you need to cuddle with that baby and when it trembles rub the bottom of his chin/neck. It is very calming for puppies.

I had a yorkie that did the same thing. Any anxious moment he had I would pick him up and massage the front of his neck.
