I used to do side laterals straight from my sides but learned that was not the optimal position so I put my arms at 30-45° position when coming up.
I did that my last shoulder day and it felt awesome! Gonna do these with cables rather than db's.I recently started doing single arm cable laterals and I now know what a pump in the side delt feels like for the first time. Constant tension...it's awesome
I feel this much better, the pinky up is probably the worst idea I've heard, I can't feel it at all...palms up I feel it .. especially with a pause at top.Is putting palms face up another good way ?
I usually go slower when using heavier weight setting on cable.I've also seen people do these too slow...imo doing them too slow especially lowering...the mm connection isn't there .I actually like them a bit explosive even not worry about the eccentric which goes against common notion...a unique exercise you really need trial and error.
I can see that being more effectiveI usually go slower when using heavier weight setting on cable.
John Meadows had me do mine like this (back when my shoulders were nice and healthy) they burn like hell. I would do normal side laterals then immediately do heavy partials.I can see that being more effective
I see a lot of people now days doing heavy partials at the bottom, I don't feel this with DB but do on the padded machine... partials then lighter weight full reps.
I've seen Milos have guys do this... anyone know if this to hit the side and front? It definitely burns
