Fish Source

As I prepare to plan my nutrition plan, I want to include more white fish. In the past, I've used Costco for but they don't have anything except Tilapia now (frozen).
The prices are crazy also. Do you guys have a source for fish? I always see these adds for Alaska Fish etc.
Last Spring, I used mostly turkey and lean meats.
If you have any decent price sources for meat, love to know. Thanks a lot in advance

I just discovered restaurant depot. Got 40lb of chicken breast for 44$ and a 5 pack of flank steak for 6$ a lb. Everything I looked at in there was cheaper than I’ve seen elsewhere. I only eat fish if I have to so I did not look at prices, however I’ll be going back this week if you want me to take a look at anything in particular

I took a look. Damn, $15-17 per pound. If I'm eating 2-3 pounds a day. Not very economical. Appreciate the resource. I'll keep looking or go fishing myself, lol

That’s what I do..I have shrimping nets and everything..I don’t use a fishing pole to fish

Big fan of Wild Fork. We had one in Boca but as mentioned I believe they ship to all 50 states. Everything is vacuum sealed fresh. They have a ton of cool shit and the prices seem fair. Def worth a try.

Dont you have supermarkets around which deliver food??? I have at least 3-4. All stock all kind of fish: pollock tuna cod haddock . I mainly use fish as my main protein source- prefer this much more then any meat. Digest so well for me.

I use butcher box and also shipt.com to have local grocers delivered. With butcherbox, if you have a plan that allows 6 items, I'll get large roasts and loins in addition to finer cuts and seafood. When you add those in the mix, the price per lb for the total amount of meat/seafood comes down pretty good

I have always gotten Orange Roughy and haddock at Costco. They don't have it anymore. I get most of my stuff at Costco and some basics at Super Walmart. I will check this ButcherBox I saw someone mention. Appreciate all the feedback. I want to plan a great cut starting in February. I'll be 53 in June and want to come in much better than last year.

Where is it sourced from?
I’ve never heard of swai and white fish being interchanged. White fish is found a lot in Canada and swai is a Southeast Asia catfish usually raised in farms there

I'll have to look next time I'm at the grocery store and see. I would guess SE Asia vs Canada

Hands down can't beat restaurant depot, especially if you get them discounted meat. I go there and stock my freezer with meat every so often. It's probably the only place I get my meats from now a days.

Im lucky to get alot of fresh fish (speckled trout , redfish , catfish , shrimp) but if i have to but it i get Swai from Walmart. I use to get it by the case from restaurant depot but its not any cheaper the last time i got it

Don’t they still require a business license (restaurant)? I used to get all my stuff there years ago when I owned a restaurant… but stopped going after I sold the biz. I have one near me now but haven’t went thinking I couldn’t wo a business ID or license on file.

Research swai. You wont eat it ever again. Its as bad if not worse than talapia. I used to eat a ton of it until i started reading up on it. Its tough to find fish for a decent price. I pretty much try to find cod on sale (It should be cheap as its a bait fish but the suppliers know people like it so they jack up the price). Now i just rely on ground turkey and chicken as i cant afford $30 of fish a day
