A discussion on the sports radio got me thinking about this. One host was going to an event and the other asked him to take pictures of the food there and he basically said"no that's stupid"
Maybe Im old but I agree, it got me thinking about what I see on social media and forums too.
I can see if someone is a chef and promoting what they make, but why do people take pictures of their food for others and why do people enjoy looking at it? Is this common outside of the fitness world? In my experience I don't see my non-fitness friends taking pictures of their meals.
yeah honestly I think it's pretty common. My wife is into "general fitness" and she has always watched the food network, buys food magazines and literally likes enjoying looking at the food. She does like looking at recipes but overall she just enjoys watching food and looking at food. Sort of how she likes watching QVC but almost never buys anything, she just likes looking.
It does seem to stand out more in the fitness world because "we" have made it some even odder obsession and we seem to be intertwined with the cheat meals, and even the mukbang culture so I do agree the fitness world has added a new spin and obsession to it. That said, the idea of looking at picture of food I think is pretty old and many are drawn to it.
