GH causing hair loss....no I'm not crazy.

Let me preface by saying both my grandparents on my mothers side both have full heads of hair into their 70's-80's currently. I've always had thick hair. About 3 years ago I started taking GH on a daily basis (3-5 I/U's both Pharm and gen). I have not been off GH since. At this same time I also noticed my hair slowly thinning. As the last couple of years have passed, it's got thinner and thinner. I've been on AAS since I was 21.....about 15yrs now and never had hair loss issues except when running high doses of EQ. No thinning issues started until daily GH injections. So, I stopped taking GH about a month ago. I was not on anything other than test which I've been on forever. After about 2wks I noticed my hair wasn't falling out in the shower when I'd wash. Also my hair had gotten noticeably thicker on top. I was pretty happy about this. On Saturday I started back on 4 I/U's of red top GH. This morning in the shower my hair is falling out badly when I wash. This shows a pretty clear link to me. GH stops and hair loss stops. GH starts and hair starts falling out.

What's causing this? Is it somehow thyroid related?
Any help would be appreciated.

Check your Thyroid levels.

I would venture, the HGH is throwing off your thyroid levels. You likely need T-4 support.

It's a delicate balance of the bodies biological clock.

There are all sorts of problems caused by taking hGH.

By it self, GH is a master hormone, and all sorts of actions are required concurrently.

Yes I see where this is mentioned by people a lot. However, as I stated, my hair stopped falling out and got thicker on top when the GH stopped. If it was just age related, it wouldn't grow back/fill back in like it did. So the age thing doesn't fly in this particular case.

Probably thyroid issue. You may want to get your t3 and t4 levels checked with blood work. If t4 levels are low you will have to supplement with t4. I know for me personally gh makes my hair darker.

Its not gh directly its depleting your thyroid. You should all ways supplement your gh use with 12.5-25 mcg t3 daily, also try supplementing with a good multi mineral without iron and you will quickly notice a big change
