Phentermine vs. Sibutramine (Meridia) for Appetite Suppression?

mazindol does the job. effect slows down after 2 weeks so I use it 2 weeks on 1 off or 4 times per week with caffeine in between. also I like its boost for training.
tried sibutramine and regarding appetite supression it's not as efective as mazindol. never tried phentermine

Would love to try mazindol, but its not available in the US. Did you get it online or was it prescribed?

Everyone, thank you so much for all of the replies/feedback, and sorry for falling off the map… I've been REALLY struggling lately and prefer to keep to myself during 'dark' times.

I am back to the drawing board and desperately in need of something very fast. I may well have had a prescription TODAY for Meridia or Phentermine; I'll sadly never know and pray that it won't take another decade to finally find someone who can help… an amazing doctor/(former athlete as well) that I recently connected with looked at me with compassion (instead of like some kind of lazy liar) and told me to "hang in there until his return"; noting that, (while not common), he has encountered and successfully treated others with the crazy/abnormal hunger problem… my follow up appointment with this doctor, (which was scheduled for today), will never happen; he passed away this past weekend. I've never felt so devastated.

Definitely a combination of both. This doc was an awesome person across the board; one of the most knowledgeable and charismatic people I've ever met. It's not just about getting a script or getting to the bottom of the hunger issue. But that is a huge issue as well and it's horrifying to feel so alone with no help in sight.

Have you ever had a 5hr Glucose Tolerance Test w/insulin levels taken? If you overproduce insulin, your hunger is out of control. In such a case, you could be prescribed the drug Proglycem and/or something to increase your insulin sensitivity (Metformin, Actos, Avandia) which would in turn decrease the amount of insulin you produce and drastically reduce your hunger.

Also call LabCorp and ask what the name of the bloodtest which gives you your LP-IR score (Lipid Profile-Insulin Resistance score)(I don't know the name, my doctor orders test for me). The results of this test will determine if you need to take something to increase your insulin sensitivity. You see, if you are very insulin resistant, you body compensates by overproducing insulin, because the insulin that it is making isn't doing what it should. In such a case, your appetite would increase. I am not saying this is what is going on with you, but if you haven't had a 5hr GTT w/insulin levels done, and the LP-IR bloodtest, start there and seek out a qualified doctor to interpret results. Clobenzorex works better than anything if taking the Mike Mentzer 'bird diet' approach, which will work for short periods of time-- and the only way you can do it and function is on uppers, is the sad truth.. But as far as suppressing hunger, and giving you the pep to conquer your day and not be a zombie on a drastic caloric deficit-- I just haven't found anything better than greenies. AND NO- It certainly isn't the healthiest way to do shit.

Newman, you are rigth about NOW being one of the better brands (I've tried 10+ brands of the years, and NOW was definitely one of the better formulas). Your wife is VERY lucky if hoodia + the Oolong tea is doing the trick for her. I've progressed to the point where hoodia makes little difference and offers mild relief, at best.

my mother swears by phentermine.she slims right down.never tried it myself.i take a medication that contains naloxone and it destroys my appetite.and ephedrine which im guessing you already tried.goodluck though.
