Road to the Lexen Summer Slam [Power Lifting]

I have always been really skeptical about peptides too but when I tore my quad I didn't even care. I'd do anything and everything to be aggressive with recovery. My thought was, it's only a couple hundred dollars so if there's even a chance it will help it's worth it.

I did a lot of research on bpc 157 and it really is an extremely promising peptide, especially for this kind of injury. Some good studies out there on it.

I'd skip the tb500 and just go gh and bpc 157.

Well the news is official, I have torn my left bicep, the distal bicep tendon, is either partially or fully torn. MRI has been done and am waiting to speak with a specialist to confirm the extent of the damage and if we need to do surgery (obviously if full tear surgery is a must). This I am sure brings up a few questions, especially as the power lifter… do I continue, how do I continue?
Damn right I continue. This is a sport and like any sport it has risks and injuries. Why do I love PL? Because it is a constant struggle and lifestyle filled with accomplishments and achievements. Nothing worth having comes easy and well we hit a bump, get over it. Push forward.
500lbs bench can still happen this year. Depending on the extent of the injury I could be healed in 8 weeks. What is 8 weeks in the big scheme of things? Absolutely nothing, heck if its 20 weeks I still am not overly concerned. This is time I can spend really focusing on my Squats and correcting my weaknesses in my Legs, Glutes, and Hamstrings.
What does this mean for Team Muscle Research? A pro bencher in recovery with a bigger squat, that’s right downtime means squat time. This is a perfect time for us to learn about dedication and perseverance, but that’s not all we will learn together. You are on this journey with me, we will be learning a LOT together
We will be learning about:
1) Dieting while injured
2) Team Muscle Research approved Supplementation
3) Recovery times and techniques
4) Unilateral training to preserve as much strength as possible
5) Leg training lots of leg training, we will be putting some massive gains on these legs
6) Reintroduction to fully body training

Team Muscle Research isn’t just about being instantly successful, we are about the journey. The triumph as a result of training and dedication, how bad do you want it !

We will see 500lbs bench, and now we will see it with an even bigger squat and stronger arms and many lessons learned in the process. So let’s embark on this journey together

Warmups
275 3x8reps
300 1x5reps
325 1x5reps
350 1x1reps

Very easy day, the reps kinda wore me down a tad but be interesting to see how this routine goes over the next few weeks.

Nothing better then having a solid day after an injury. This dog isn't put down yet.

KBrown, I was skeptical about peptides too. I've got biceps tendonitis that flares up really bad from squatting and makes it almost impossible to bench. I also tore my labrum at my last meet benching(still pulled a pr, because that's what we do). But the BPC is a game changer. I've gone through a couple bottles and I'm hitting good numbers as I'm prepping for my next meet in 8 weeks. The pain isn't completely gone, but it's much better. Just my two cents.

Take a it easy on squats deads, bench cause alot would be amazed how much the biceps have to do with everything:cool:

I am absolutely astonished by the generosity and heart of a guy on this board.

He is going to help me on my path to recovery and donate some GH to help me recover through some tough times. This to me means the world.

Good to see people out there who can give a man a hand up through some tough times. I had so much going for me for this summer and the torn bicep is a HUGE set back that I am trying to remain positive through.

As a new guy on this community I have had people reach out to me and be supportive and this individual just went above and beyond. Really shows what type of community is here and sets itself apart from other forums I have been on for years (e.g. IronMag).

Gotta say thank you and I won't drop the guys name, but he is free to chime in or remain anonymous.
Thank you again brother, and lets hope for a speedy recovery.

Hard to tell but are those the Adidas Powerlifts? If so, great shoe.

Keep plugging away brotha

The pain is pretty real today
Looking forward and nervous about my appointment tomorrow. Praying for it to be as minor of a tear as possible. Surgery scares me haha damn !
If they don't do surgery tomorrow I will be training tomorrow night

Good luck brother! Hoping for the best news possible!

This thread is great! The videos are awesome and you look good brotha! Keep up the hard work..and thanks for all this.

If people do mixed grip(obviously powerlifters do) I suggest they do tissue work and stretching for the biceps. If your arms don't hang straight when relaxed you're at an increased risk of a bicep injury during the deadlift.

Sucks about that injury... I wish you a speedy recovery!
