Hey guys check this out. If any of you are like me and feel slightly crippled and knotted up (especially in the entire region of the back/traps) or even if you don't think you are, this might be useful for you. I admit I neglected any kind of therapy for years but over the last year have had some ART and similar things done and I can tell you that for bodybuilders, it can be a huge asset.
I got into the foam rolling but I never found it did much for my upper body or had enough pressure to get into the back muscles, although it is good for rolling out quads/hams. I find myself trying to push my back up against walls and shit to get into the gnarly spots.
The guy I go to now is a very well renowned whiplash specialist and him and a few partners have developed a pretty nifty (and affordable) tool that allows you to DIY to a degree for maintenance.
Basically, you find the knotted up areas that hurt and need some breaking up and you can apply the opposing pressure yourself and hold it for 20-30 seconds. I've been pretty damn impressed with how I feel in the morning after using it, feel like I have already stretched etc. and have already seen an increase in flexibility throughout my upper body as we all know (or should) that everything is connected up there.
**broken link removed**
Check it out if you are looking for something else to help with recovery or if you simply can't afford/too lazy to actually go see someone.
The website is aimed at regular people but trust me if you get aggressive with it, it is very effective for people who train.
