Am I overthinking btc transactions

I believe all the wallets charge a fee, it has to do with the way BTC works if i'm not mistaken. The charge might not be from the wallet itself but the BTC network. Someone correct me if i'm wrong.

You’re right. You can try to shop around, but all BTC transactions will have some sort of fee.

I miss the good old days I could buy BTC without all this cashapp/coinbase identity crap.

I use coinmama to purchase and send to my wallet. Not great fee-wise, but fast.

Yeah, i used coinmama in the past with good results, but something happened and i couldn't use them anymore. I think they changed their terms and it wasn't useable anymore.


I used to have a BTC kiosk near my house, basically a BTC ATM. It was amazing. You could buy BTC in person like drawing cash from an ATM.

I was looking through the app trying to figure out how to transfer the funds but wasn’t seeing how that worked. Eventually I looked on Exodus to get how to instructions. In those instructions it mentioned adding a custom fee but didn’t elaborate on this at all. So when I actually went through the process of transferring the BTC it automatically created a fee so a custom fee wasn’t necessary. Now I know how it works. Thanks for the reply my man!

Have you done it recently? It’s gotten a lot more expensive here lately. I started a thread on it a few days ago and pretty much everyone has noticed the same.

Yeah, just ordered some Gold Tops from TP. I didn't notice the fee, but cost of anything is not an issue for me usually. Maybe it was a bit higher than a few years back.

Oh I know what mean, definitely doesn’t hurt me either. I think spent about 90 bucks to send $260 from coinbase to a wallet and then on from there. Seemed like double at least from a few months ago

That sounds insanely high relative to the amount of BTC you sent. I don't think my exodus fee was anywhere near that high a percentage of the transaction and mine was over $500 and another over $1000.
