Trust wallet went to 0 this morning BTC

I usually purchase BTC with Crypto.com and transfer to Trust wallet to send out. I check the balance ever couple days. Especially since BTC is on a roll. Last night I had $315 this morning it has a 0 balance and BTC is up 9% today.
I submitted a ticket but figured I would ask on the forum if anyone else had issues. I’m glad I didn’t have a big balance at the time.

I have heard of people loosing thousands of dollars of crypto due to hackers some how getting at it. Good luck.

Electronic/app wallets can be sketchy. I only buy BTC if i’m making a purchase. If i was in BTC for investment purposes, I’d use an externalized usb drive or something.

I would hope its just a glitch in their system.

Fuck! Hope you get it figured out OP. I also only put BTC in just to make a purchase. I might have some change left over but that's it. Shit's too volatile for me to fuck with.

Right, it goes up then goes down hard when you least expect it. Worse than any company's stock that's for sure.

Guys using these exchange wallets.
Why ???
Use your own locally stored wallet.
Doesn't change volatility of the coin. But at least you have control over who accesses your keys/wallet etc by using local storage.
Read up on the difference between exchange wallets and local wallets.

I had a buddy get hit for several thousand.
It’s one of the downfalls of crypto.

I normally buy and send within minutes and I never store a balance.

Funds popped back up. Not sure if the support ticket may have worked. These funds were just left over. I usually only put in my wallet when ready to purchase.

right.. when you store your coin on an exchange, they have full access to your wallet.
which is why people wake up one day, and their wallet has 0 coins left(totally unrelated to volatility.. more related to outright theft)

coin market value will remain the same whether stored locally or on an exchange..
but at least with local storage you have control(sole access) over your coin.

Anything centralized and you are leaving them with the control.

Self custody is the only real way to control and make sure your coins are safe!

If not a hack due to a missed step on your end, the exchanges will usually
correct any system errors in hours.
