How many of you(advanced bb´ers) do still regular DL? If not, why not?
I´m thinking of picking up deadlifts again on backdays, always felt my back/posterior got the thickest when doing them.
Yeah Eddie Hall (First man to deadlift 500kg) said his deadlift kept progressing until he hit 420kgs then he hit a plateu for years. He then spoke to specialists who told him the body needs 10 days to recover from deadlifts and he was doing them once a week. When he started doing deadlifts once every 10 days he broke the plateu and made progress.SLDL or Romanian DL but I never do classic deadlifts anymore - this exercise is too tiring for the CNS and, as a result, it affects the poorer regeneration of other muscle groups and does not provide much for hypertrophy to be included in a bodybuilder's training plan.
I don't know your situation but how do you progress doing the same weight for the same reps week after week? Im sure you'd get a pump but what progress can you really make like that? I feel like it would get boring to me.Regular deads don't go heavy at all(never more than 315) but do them slow and controlled and get a good squeeze at the top.
Well I have adopted a more.time under tension workout style as.I have gotten older. You can always go slower and do more reps and sets. I always try for more reps but don't make it easier by going faster. Is it ideal...I don't know but I get as sore as I ever have trying to move.weight. Would I train this way in my 20s...no. I do not get bored at all at the gym, I love that shit!I don't know your situation but how do you progress doing the same weight for the same reps week after week? I know the feeling. After 20 years of dead lifting, my body is telling me that I’m too oldI do rack deads a lot and a rack dead high pull variation, but I don’t deadlift from the floor anymore due to a compromised lower back
That’s my max too just to be safeRegular deads don't go heavy at all(never more than 315) but do them slow and controlled and get a good squeeze at the top.
