Quads 3x/week?

The easier the workouts, the more frequent you can do it.
3x per week means you are just wanking off in the gym.
Intensity builds muscle.
I rather hit 3x per month then 3x per week.
Think about it.

Everything else being equal, I would rather stimulate growth three times a week over three times a month.

There is a fine line between stimulate versus annihilate. You have to find yours. It is there. Patience and good record keeping play a huge part.
 
I agree with this ideology you can’t blast yourself to the point of failure and beyond 3 times a week hardly 2 if you really go full tilt like on say legs. Again for sport there may be a methodology but for bodybuilding it’s not the way
I know I sure the fuck can't ^^^^ I can barely do it once a week on legs. Now if I just went in and done a bunch of pump sets sure but that's not how I train. If you can recovery from training to near failure on legs 3x per week I fucking applaud you as you are a fucking beast!

When I did Phil's program of every bodypart daily it was a bitch squatting 7 days a week if only for one set.

I spent a good number of years squatting 3x a week, sometimes more,, and full body pulling numerous sessions. Even with that background...it just gets hard to get under the bar after a while. Seems to get worse the older I get too. Something about squatting is just fucking brutal. Training partners help for sure. Maybe I've also become a pussy...thought does cross my mind in all honesty.

Yea we did legs Saturday and chestvtonight and I was talking about this thread as we limped around the gym and you’re spot on just no way and mind you we are decades long lifters so it’s not newbie shit leg day is meant to break you

Well, I know you put in the time and effort and clearly it paid off. Great legs you got for sure.

Now this young man I am training squats (he loves to squat), does legs, 3x per week, every week since I started training him and he must be a beast according to you. These are sets to failure with me, a gun in one hand and a chair in the other 😉 He is reduced to a puddle on the floor after legs, cannot walk, cannot stand. And I would put his legs up against just about anybody here.

Will there come a time when the frequency gets reduced? Most certainly. But for now, the frequent stimulation is working miracles. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
