Why does lack of enough water cause excruciating lower back pumps?

Wouldn’t one think it would be the opposite? Just curious here. You’d think better hydration would = better pumps, yet every time i see drinking more water recommended to help with lower back pumps (like with dbol for example).

How much water are you talking about here?

I think the general idea behind the “drink more water” concept is just because these compounds will help you retain minerals/water, so drinking more water will help you flush it to a degree. That’s just my understanding of it.

Taurine helps a lot.

In the same light, I am curious how sodium assist in pumps considering typically doesn’t excess sodium cause dehydration?

Why would excess sodium cause dehydration? Sodium draws water into the cell. This would obviously require enough water

I read that sodium pills water out of cells, but I assume this is only if water intake isn’t high enough then?

Yes. It’s osmosis. Water will move to whichever has more sodium in order to keep homeostasis. If both water and sodium are high, the body can be hyper hydrated. Hence the better pumps.
Glycerol can increase this even more

You seem well educated on this stuff if you don’t mind some questions bro

Firstly, curious why when I use ephedrine my pumps seem better since it’s a vasoconstrictor? Is it just from the higher BP?

Also how much glycerol you recommend and when to take it!

Vasoconstrictor will limit blood flow so it won’t result in a better pump. There must be other factors at play or it’s in your head. A vasodilator like L-Cirtruline will increase blood flow and in turn give better pumps.

It’s probably in my head then. More energy just making me train harder and the pump “feels” better.

On the ephedrine, it could be from that, or it could be psychosomatic. As for glycerol, I prefer liquid glycerol. Monostearate just really doesn’t seem to do what the liquid does. I do 2 tbl with some taurine, creatine, and citruline maleate in my pre/intra drink as well as taking a gram of sodium before I leave for the gym(the sodium is gonna make a really big difference)

I prefer the liquid as well. Agree it feels like it works better… but that might just be cause half the monostearate sticks to my damn shaker lol.

God glycerol gives me the most insane skin splitting pumps it’s so underrrated

There's really no reason to use the monosteatate powder. Less bang for your buck, solubility sucks and when they put it in pre-wo products it turns the whole thing into a damm rock.
Liquid forever.

Well, I guess in theory it could right if someone doesn’t intake the adequate water after that sodium? But they would be damn thirsty and pretty much purposefully avoiding water at that point lol

As I understand it yes it woukd pull water from organs and muscle to GI tract and urine which is why you don’t drink oven water. I can tell you for sure doing open ocean training you swallow a lot of sea water and you stay thirsty as fuck and don’t piss as often or I didn’t anyway.
