at the time when i ruptured my pec i had been busy with school and work and usually only lifted upper body 1x a week sometimes every 1.5 or 2 weeks for just 1 hour, usually chest and shoulders. going on for months. I have lifted more weight on the press before for more reps so was pondering if there is possible connection between not lifting as often leading to injuries. you would perhaps think the opposite letting the body heal well after every workout would prevent injuries vs overtraining lifting hours on end would lead to ijuries. but maybe theres that fine medium? or did my age just catch up with me, now mid-twenties.

Well I can say some take breaks and then think they can start back up with what they left off with weight wise .. this will cause injuries. In your situation its can be similar if your injuring yourself from not lifting as often you either are using bad form training or your weight is to much for the time you've taken off. If you have both of these things correct then you could be re-injuring a past injury that has not healed up completely. I always know if I'm not lifting as often to swallow my pride and go a little lighter. Its either that or or don't be surprised when your shit gets jacked.. and trust me I was guilty of this at one time that's how I know. I just learned repetition in this case = Stupidity :) I don''t think its your age catching up with you, I just think the extra time you are now taking away may cause for a little lighter weight then when you lift more frequently. Hope I'm making sense with what I am trying to say ... lol
