Just random stuff that interests me.....

Maybe my math is off, but I don't see much of a price difference between EAAs (25.24 per 500g), BCAAs (26.09 per 500g) and PeptoPro (29.99 per 454g) on TN? Can't you also use less PP for similar results? That's the recommendation I often see.

More importantly, where's the $7-13/lb EAA? :)

did you personally see any real gains from the hbcds and glycofuse or whatever the new fangled carb source is that people believe needs to be a staple in the pre/intra/post craze.

I do use the cyclic dextrins because of their unbelievably fast gastric emptying...they really have left all other carbs in the dust on that front...(shouldnt do this because this is going to cause arguments...so let me state this is what i personally like to do)..my pre and intra is the following

scoop of Muscle Intrusion which is Amino Acid Complex (L-Lysine, L-Glutamine, L-Leucine, L-Valine, L-Threonine, DL-Phenylalanine, L-Methionine, L-Isoleucine, Creatine Gluconate, Agmatine Sulfate, Carbohydrate Enzyme Complex, L-Tryptophan). Also has Highly Branched Cyclic Dextrin and on top of that i put
a) agmatine sulfate
b) citrulline malate
c) creatine monohydrate
d) hydromax <--im dropping this i think its overrated
e)another large amount of bcaas
f) another scoop of Leucine
g) Good whopping scoop of Taurine (probably 3 to 4 grams)..taurine has been shown many times over the last few years to raise testosterone and LH and protects Leydig cells)
8 ounces of 100% pomegranate juice (for prostate and other health benefits)
4-6 ounces of 100% apple juice because pomegranate juice is so tart
4-6 ounces of water.

Very partial to that.

Why the pea protein just curious, is it because its the cheapest? Amino acid profile?

That one is just personal preference and i like its amino acid profile.
Im very partial to egg white and use egg white and pea protien isolate for all day use....and whey isolate post workout......tastes wise egg white can get old by itself but when put with pea it thickens the shake a little and adds a little "creaminess factor" for lack of better words.....

Pea Protein has great amino acid profile and its cheap! by itself i dont like it that much because it can make a shake too thick so i use it with egg white

Very thankful youve taken the time to do this thread. Two quick questions. First, any benefit to taking hawthorne for BP? When I first ran pro hormones 5 years back it was in a lot of cycle assist products bc it was supposdd to help relax blood vessels keeping BP in check.

Second, ive read you should take peperine with cucurmin bc it doesnt absorb well. Any truth to this? Thank you!
 
DC have you ever looked into Gotu Kola? While I know this to be true, I have not come across anything definitive regarding whether this applies/matters when someone is on TRT already. What are your thoughts/experience on the matter in those instances?

Curious as to why you think hydromax is overrated
 
I think pepto pro is the most overrated overpriced protein powder there is. DSM came in with all this great marketing and science and convinced the masses. And then made a secular product which had a fervor and crushed it. And this is coming from a guy who sells Pepto Pro for the lowest price out there, was the company that introduced Pepto Pro to the bodybuilding community, and to this day still sells mass amounts of pepto pro to people. I draw my opinion on a couple things.

This is fact: There is not a person on this planet that has used more pepto pro than me. I used it for about 3-4 years straight in quanitities that people would go broke on because i got it for free. Im talking large amounts (60 plus grams most of the time multiple times a day). I really wanted to put it to the test and see if it resulted in anything pretty spectacular. Im a creature of habit...i pretty much eat the same things, i train really heavy and progressive and intense, and supplement the same way for long periods of time so when i make a change to my system that is positive or negative....i notice it.

I saw no difference at all between my large pepto pro usage and using either egg white/pea protien isolate mix (which i use today) and whey isolate Postworkout (which i use today)....Nothing, nada, zilch....it was the exact same effects. Definitely not worth 30 dollars a pound, no way in hell.

Two: Ive seen a large number of employees and people locally (including my business partner) who used large amount of pepto pro over lengths of time....and again what happened....they eventually went back to whey isolate and egg white/micellar or egg white/pea protein isolate also.......

I personally feel its grossly overrated and i would much rather see my customers pay their hard earned money on something that is 7-13 dollars a pound than something that is 30 dollars a pound which in my opinion really doesnt do anything more beneficial. Company wise it doesnt matter either way to me...we make about the same margin on both products but personally I have a big problem steering customers to a 30 dollars a pound product that i dont think has the merit to cost 30 dollars a pound at all.



I think EEA/BCAA usage should be use pre intra and maybe post workout but mostly pre and intra....and then maybe pre bed, anytime you cant get a meal or a shake in, and maybe middle of the nite if you got up to urinate...but pre and intra and pre bed is where i see the importance


Funny reading this now. I already made the decision to not buy more when I ran out and now I know I won't. I was adding a scoop to Intra MD which is probably overkill
 
Im too chicken to go the low dose progesterone route....there is just way too much conflicting literature.....so i think im going to try to attack this pregnenolone wise as a precursor and see what changes in bloodwork that brings.
Looking forward to hearing updates on this. I'm starting 50mg oral pregnelone myself after reading this.

its seems you have always or at least for a very long time been partial to fruit juices. that is one thing I dropped a long time ago. I think prob the last time was when i followed your nutrition stuff.

any thoughts on fructose as a carb source in that regard?

most people prefer others.

also how many grams of carbs are you getting form the cyclic dextrins?

Re: hydromax IS overrated I agree. Why use something that's 65% glycerol when you can buy 100% glycerol cheap.

Do you think adding extra carbs intra workout can hinder weight loss? I'm debating taking out my 60g carbs from HBCD for this reason.

You can just have most of your daily carbs intra. I did that and lost plenty of fat. The intra hbcd helped my workouts and kept my muscles full while dieting hard.

Hey NY I tried this for a short while but I thought I was spending my carbs/ Cal's drinking and not eating hence no satisfaction . I still have little 20 gm or 30 Max hbcd but I am seriously thinking of pulling it all out too like nothuman and just have more of carb porn postworkout aka white basmati rice lol! Drinking carbs when Cal's are low doesn't satisfy me when the quota is less anyway. Any mental jewels u got to help the situation other then suggesting to man up and suck it up and do it for the sake of fat less lol :) . I loooove my white rice (Indian genes) . red or white beans with rice and fat free Greek yogurt is my fev cheat meal !!
 
I hear what your saying. For me when I am not doing full blown no carb ketogenic, the bulk of my carbs are around training. Then I usually have some fruit with a few of my meals the rest of the day. Not too exciting it works.

Same here. I tried this for about 4 days before I couldn't take the suffering anymore. I need carbs with every meal.
 
I'm taking in about 2 1/2 meals worth of whey shakes atm, im going to get on the pea Protein for 1 1/2, would i be able to sub my pre workout whey shake with Pea protein shake, because its easier on the tummy? Would that work even tho its not a complete animal protein ?
