***KEVIN LEVRONE*** Arguably best Genetics EVER?!?!?

The 90's bodybuilding scene was absolutely awesome, the best of my lifetime. I caught the end of the 80's too, which were awesome. Before that, I was too young to really pay attention outside of watching Arnold in Movies like Conan.

TBH, all of those guys in the 90's could have won the O at any given time and people would have been okay with it. I liked them all, they were all great!

I feel the same way about 90's hip hop.

IMHO KL never won an O BECAUSE of his genetics and work ethics. Everyone knew how easy it was for him and there was no way they would reward him over a workaholic like Yates or Ronnie. Yes he looked great but everyone knew he coasted when others were working. Just my opinion.

Agree on all. Kevin was definitely one of the greats in his time but there were so many good ones at the time. Kevin and Flex were always two of my favorites but neither ever won the big one.

Yes they are 2 of my favorites, and Dorian Yates is one of my favorites also. Flex Wheeler's look and build in his first 1 or 2 Olympia's before he had the car accident is my favorite look for a bodybuilder of all time, just my opinion. After that he tried to beat Dorian at his own game (mass) and he never could quite win (he said that himself that he tried to play the mass game).

It was close and I would have liked to see each of those guys win one, but I understand why they didnt. Dorian definitely took things to a new level of mass and conditioning so I am fine with him winning all the Sandow's that he did. But it doesnt mean that Levrone and Wheeler were not worthy...

I also heard the things about work ethic, especially with Flex Wheeler. Cheating on his diet, and a judge even said he never came into a show with striated glutes... Not sure if they used the work ethic thing against them in judging, but if his glutes werent striated and other guys were that could hurt your score.

Can someone here post a video of another bodybuilder who can match the conditioning Kevin had in the first vid I posted?

Shawn Ray and Lee Labrada were two more that always came in sucked in. Those guys were great but never had a chance due to the size difference once the mass era was started by Dorian and a few others.

Some of my favorites in those clips posted by Allex above. The 90's was a great era for bodybuilding.

Sometime I wish there were life logs from the first day they started lifting to their peak. Just so we can really appreciate the work over the years. And than try to mimic and get depressed cause we don't have their genetics

I think bodybuilding is quite possibly the only sport where hard work doesn't beat talent when talent doesn't work hard.

I agree. Talent will only go so far. I'm on that fence (my person goal fence) I respond amazingly to a perfect diet and supplement regimen when working out but if I slip up for a minute. It goes down hill fast and than have to redo my past work. But if talent works hard...mm game over

Shawn looks incredible in that video. I always thought his legs were not given enough credit. He carried a lot of muscle and kept it aesthetic.
