Tips for being on feet all day

Hey guys. I work a job getting me around usually 15k steps a day. By the end of the day I typically have some edema, feet ache, and have even gotten plantar fasciitis (ouch…)

I’m thinking maybe getting compression socks? Are any on Amazon good? How about shoe recommendations?

What is your diet like? Are you taking any medication or are on?

As for shoe recommendations, like New Balance 860v12. Check out joes new balance outlet online. But i would recommend getting properly sized and fitted for a shoe first.

Custom orthotics. Not the off the rack ones. Get the ones you need a script/referral for. They will be about $600 a pop but well worth it. Wear only shoes, boots, etc that have a removable insole so you can slide the orthotics in there.

Also, get a bunch of Thorlo socks and a pair of house slippers. Never ever go barefoot at home or outside or on any hard surface.

Replace shoes with cushion soles. Sit down when you can, just worked nine hours. After I sat down , manager say down next to me ,was telling me about sending a dick pic to her, which I find was inappropriate. This is the second time, I'm going to have to tell her it's inappropriate, if she keeps it up. Glad the phone rang, I got up and answered it.

Spend the money on good shoes and if you wear them every day replace them every 3-4 months.

Same here and I also wear those shoes with steel points where the toes are. My feet absolutely reek by the end of the shift.

I’ve had plantar fasciitis surgery on both feet. 100% agree with advice above.

My wife and I are both nurses. She works in the OR so is on her feet in lead for LONG periods of time. She swears by Medical grade compression socks and Hokas. I must say, She bought me a pair of Hokas for Father’s Day and they are very comfortable!

i also walk alot since i like it but my feet are completely wrcked.
I can not walk without shoes and i have kind of numbness in my feet balls (no diabetes)
i have an appointment to get a custom my sole done. Maybe this helps.
I am sometimes kind of desperate because after a long day on my feet they feel like complete crap

Hoka's are probably one of the most comfortable shoes out there but they really need to work with a new design team because they are probably the ugliest, most goofy looking shoe, I've ever seen.

Yeah they do have a "clunky" look to them. These are the same color/model that I have, but like you said they are SO comfortable. I think they look pretty good in blue, though.

THIS^ exactly what i was gonna say AND what i was told by my orthotic guy.
life changer for me. i used to battle plantar. after just couple hours on feet my ankles and knees would ache. even had a hip acting up.
got $1250 orthotics and boom game changer. can be on my feet all day.

Well i guess you could spend a lot of money. Im a hairstylist,i have a good thick matt and i use plain ole nike shocks with doc sholls inserts and the high compression 15-20 mmhb mud gear socks. Lot of the girls i work with do wear those hokas. Ugly shoe lol.

These are rated very comfortable. I have a lot of clients that are nurses they all wear these.
