When cutting I'm around 300-350 and when bulking I'm over 600. I'm a big believer in carbs and it's protein sparing effect. Often times I'll even drink Gatorade and the likes during my workouts and cardio even when cutting.
 
I'm doing something very similar also. Fats are 150g on rest days and carbs are around 200. Training days carbs are at 500 and fats are capped at 65g. Seems to be working very well.
I've been following that diet strategy since Fortitude Training came out. It's the only way I can stay somewhat lean and gain.

If you think your eating too much then replace some with protein and monitor results.

I also do this and it works well for me. I have to keep fat low if my carbs are jacked up. This is my preference for bulking.

Im the other way around.

I keep Carbs low, Moderate fat, High protein.

Maintain 220 pounds at 5foot11, very lean.

I even have trouble maintaining size eating like this, If i dont eat enough protein.

I probably eat 100g Carbs/day max.

I stay very lean, that way, If i want too gain I overeat Protein, Eggs and beef in particular. So i stay lean while gaining muscle.

I am "lean bulking" I guess you could say... I'm trying to gain muscle, stay somewhat lean, and improve my metabolism.



195 g of carbs in training day sounds like contest prep. Then you say 30 g on non training days? What is your fat and protein like? How the heck you even track 30 g of carbs. That’s like 1/2 cup of rice all day?

If I am not eating 250 g of carbs per day I am pissed, hungry, and not happy. 300-500 g is a growth phase for me. I really just go by hunger and listen to my body. Feed it what it needs and train my fucking ass off. Eat enough to build muscle....that is the goal. Don’t over feed but eat enough to build baby!!!!!!

well, when im bulking i still fast for 14-16 hours a day so thats not a problem to me. i still get in my 700g carbs :D

can you put on weight wile doing so? what about catabolism in the morning?

This is pretty much what i do as well. I eat clean while bulking but a lot of carbs. While cutting I do much better on higher carbs of 300-350 grams than anything resembling a keto diet.
 
I just calculate it by weight so if im sitting at 230lbs and im bulking with a 500 caloric surplus, the calculations will be as so:
230 x 15 (maintainence) = 3450 calories
3450 + 500 (surplus) = 3950 calories
230 x 0.50 (fat) = 115g
230 x 1.2 (protein) = 276g
115 x 9 = 1035 (fat calories)
276 x 4 = 1104 (protein calories)
1035 + 1104 = 2139
3950 - 2139 = 1811 (carb calories)
1811 / 4 = 452.75 (carbs)

So at 230lbs ill be eating 3950 cals, 276g protein, 115g fat, and 453g carbs... ill check if i calculated right by adding it up
276 x 4 = 1104
115 x 9 =1035
453 x 4 = 1812
1104 + 1035 + 1812 = 3951
so its good...

and from there ill just use those numbers as a base, depending on how i look in the mirror and on the scale ill either add 25g carbs or take away.. etc or even 50g+ carbs add or take away.

its the same formula for my calculating my cutting base numbers but it'll just be tweaked a bit more (maybe reduce the fats to fit in more carbs or increase the fats to take away some carbs) and depending on my metabolism ill multiply my weight by either 14-16 for my maintenance starting point... usually for some reason its 15 on my bulks as 16 gets me too fat and 14 for my cuts. and yeahhh :) didnt proof read that shit, hope its correct ahaha
