I've been taking 2-3 grams a day of Omegas 3's. Last year my HDL level was higher than its ever been before using Omega 3's. Coincidence? Who knows. But its enough for me to keep using it.
I take 1.2g with every meal 6 times/day. Id take more but burping up that dam fish taste all day long makes me wonder why I even take any at all:banghead:
I've been using 15-40 grams a day for 10 years. Joints feel good and skin does not dry out during the harsh winters. Might be overkill but Poliquin has recommended high doses and I've just kinda stuck with it over the years.
I have been getting 1g of epa/dpa in the am and the evening too. I get that in 6 grams of small fish oil (sardine, anchovy). I just got a delivery of Krill oil caps tonight and I'll check that out till the bottles empty. When I get my hands on some Lovaza at the office I take that also during the day with a protein bar.
what criteria do you use to base how much fish oil you should take per day? I have read elsewhere that people with shoulder impingement issues such as I have can take up to 15g per day.
If I am reading this right from my Nordic Ultimate Omega fish oil, I take two capsules = 1000mg which equals 1 g, correct? To get to even 10 g per day I would have to take a total of 20 capsules. Please let me know if my math is wrong. Obviously if I want 10g per day (or whatever the right amount is to help deal with my impingement issues) I would need to consider switching to a more potent fish oil, taking 20 pills a day is not only time cosuming but would be very expensive.
