Type 1 Diabetic Journey to the Stage!
OK. Some of you may know my background, but I am type 1 diabetic and have been for over 11 years now.
Used to be obese, I am just under 5'5 and was over 200lb in high school.
This is the fattest pic I can find. 165lbs
Not only was I fat, but my health was terrible. At the age of 18, my Doctor prescribed me blood pressure and cholesterol meds because they were VERY high. That was a wake up call for me! Instead of getting the prescriptions filled, I took to eating better, exercising and losing weight.
After a year I lost 75lbs! I was down to 128lbs! And have been building myself back up ever since!
157lbs
Now, my doctor says that she has never had a patient with better BP and Cholesterol. Funny how hard work and diet work so well.
So fast forward to now!
I have wanted to compete for a while, last prep I ended up shattering my ankle due to a hypoglycemic episode/seizure, and needed surgery.
I have my eyes set on the 2013 NPC Pennsylvania Classic in Allentown, PA on August 24th.
I will log my workouts and progress up until the show, along with the challenges of being diabetic and getting ready for a show.
START PICS: 169lbs
Got some work to do! Tonight I well get my last 2 Workouts in.
I base my routine a lot of of Phil's teachings. When I met Phil, his training tips are really what got me growing!
I appreciate tips a long the way, with posing and what not.
I am working with IFBB Pro Fakhri Mubarak.
