Battling Tren Insomnia

It's funny - THC chills me out, but my mind gets very active. Doesn't really help me sleep.... too bad.

sometimes that happens to me too, i always have ativan on hand just incase.
 
I have had troubles sleeping through out the majority of my adult life....seroquel @ 25 mgs - 50mgs at night does the trick for me. I don't see how it is so detrimental to our BB lifestyle if it allows for solid 6-8 hrs sleep a night. I know it intensifies my hunger beyond anything and if i'm not careful I can find myself in a bit of daze loading myself with food in front of the fridge for 15 minutes...


As far as reeking havoc on the metabolism I don't know if that's true... but I guess everyone is different. I was still able to shred up well and hit my dose of seroquel nightly.

My question is can seroquel have have effects on mass building? , as far as getting quality sleep, I don't know if much can compare. even at a low dose it never feels like you build a resistance to the drug and have to take more, which is a plus. I was prescribed the meds for bi-polar issues and it has been a godsend for the most part......even some AAS will keep me tossing and turning tho. Orals for me are a killer especially var and dbol

I don't think there is going to be any acute issue with metabolism with 25-50mg at night. Some people use this 24/7 at high doses to control psych issues. That's when I think the major metabolic issues start. The only downside for me is that it takes me a few hours of the next day to really "wake up." The drug is pretty long acting...

I get the munchies from it too, but I have pretty solid control over it.

I agree that there's little tolerance build-up with Seroquel. I haven't noticed any, much unlike benzo's and Z-class sleep drugs.

for me it would indirectly. the one time i tried it the next day was complete junk. couldnt train with full intensity, found myself staring off into space between sets, and strength was sapped. the only way i think i would have come alive was by taking adderall, which in itself has always effected my mass building despite remembering all of my meals.

The higher the dose, the longer it takes to wear off the next day from my experience. I try to stick with 25mg/night, taken a few hours before I go to sleep - that way it wears off earlier the next day.
 
My doc prescribed me 25mg of Seroquel for sleep.
It knocks me out no matter what my tren dose, and this is coming from someone that has had insomnia their whole life, whether on AAS or not.
 
My body tolerates Tren Ace very well (Enanthate was pure sides for me). My labs look perfect even when running 500mg Tren Ace per week. The only side effect that is truly life-interrupting is the Insomnia. The night-sweats don't even bother me as long as I can sleep through them! I use tren for 4-8 week bursts and losing sleep is both unhealthy and not conducive to bodybuilding goals. Therefore, with the advice and prescriptions of my doctor, I have tried several pharmaceutical solutions for sleep while on Tren that I'd like to share.

I've used:

Lunesta 3mg - helps me get to sleep, but after 4 hours I am up with difficulty remaining asleep. My sleep is not very deep with just Lunesta while on Tren.

Lunesta 3mg + Trazadone 50mg: This is a decent solution. I don't have a prescription for Trazadone but I've gotten some from a close Dr. Friend to try out. This is an option that I keep open. Trazadone has little if any withdrawal.

Lunesta 3mg + Seroquel 25mg: This was a great solution, but I'm opposed to using Seroquel except when in a bind. The drug has nasty effects on the metabolism (interferes with lypolysis, insulin sensitivity, etc) and can cause some withdrawal. 25mg is a baby dose but still...

Lunesta 3mg + Klonopin 2-3mg: This is a good solution as well. I like Klonopin as it's mild and long acting. I don't like the idea of using a benzo for too long because of the withdrawal. I didn't have any withdrawal from using it for about a month during my last Tren Ace burst though.

I also use a decent dose of:

ZMA
Tryptophan
Valarian
L-Theanine

However these are not enough on their own while using Tren to get a full, deep 8 hours of sleep that I need (at least for me). I'd ideally like to find an OTC solution that is sedating enough. The problem with sleep on Tren in my opinion has to do with CNS stimulation from the androgenic activity. This is why Seroquel works so well in cases of insomnia because it slows down the dopamine/nor-epinephrine activity in the brain - which is stimulated by Tren.

I was thinking that 5-HTP may be a good way to keep serotonin levels up while on Tren. Since the CNS is pretty active while on Tren, serotonin can be depleted. I may give this a shot.

I like the idea of using some OTC Gaba-related compounds like Phenibut. I have heard that Phenibut users get some nasty hang-over and tolerance issues. Picamilon is a niacin bound GABA that helps it cross the BBB better than free form Gaba and I've seen some decent reports of sleep-help from it online. I will likely be trying picamilon as well.

Many guys who use HGH say that a decent shot of HGH (2+iu) before bed helps reduce the tren insomnia but I don't use HGH that much as of right now.


I have a love-hate relationship with Tren because it has such amazing body-composition effects, doesn't negatively impact my labs but definitely interferes with my sleep...

Does anyone else have any success battling Tren insomnia?


Thoughts:

I've never done tren, but I have a lot of experience with battling insomnia, since I've been on stims since I was 8. Here are some pharmaceuticals that might help:


Clonidine: just 100 ug is usually enough, but for serious cases 200 ug will knock you on your ass. Minimum of side effects, too.

Xanax: works well, but easy to get addicted to.

A glass (not a shot) of your favorite liquor (I prefer Scotch, Bourbon in a pinch): works just as well as Xanax, and doesn't require a prescription. I'd worry about dependence with this, though. It's a short term-solution.

Low-dose abilify: makes me drowsy as fuck. Problematically so. For some people it worsens insomnia, though. Works synergistically with alcohol.


Benedryl: Overrated. I need to take double the recommended dose for it to work well. Also, doesn't do anything for my allergies.

Other thoughts:

I've heard that tren-related insomnia is largely a result of prolactin buildup. Maybe try caber if you're not already on it?

I agree. It knocks me out as well. Seroquel is so sedating at low doses that you can drink caffeine with it and still go to sleep.
 
Visatril or trazadone (prescription antihistamines) will knock your ass out guaranteed. Nothing knocks me out but those not even benzos.

I've tried Trazadone, it definitely makes me tired, but I noticed that a tolerance can build up. Did you notice this? I haven't tried Visatril . Trazadone is actually a tricyclic anti-depressant.
 
Also, have you tried delta sleep enhancing peptide?

Delta Sleep Enhancing peptide - Didn't do shit for me!

Oxerin-A worked ok.

I've used Delta peptide. It made me ready for sleep and may have made me sleep deeper, but I would never count on it to treat trensomnia.

I have used Trazadone before, it made me sleep well. I think there are better drugs to use if you are just trying to sleep though.

After a month of taking tren even taking 300mg of trazadone did absolutely nothing for me.

How much test are you running along with the tren?

For me running high dose test with my tren means sides and more sides.

Running a replacement dose of test and high tren is smooth sailing for me. that includes sleep.
 
Any dose of tren that is worth running causes sleep issues for me. It's a balancing act. I'd rather counter the sleep issues and use an optimal dose of tren then use a sub-optimal dose and still have most of the sleep issues. Again, my overall health is not negatively impacted by tren.

I've heard mixed things about prami. Hopefully we get some more feedback here.

I'm going to pick up some 5-htp and give it a go. I'd rather feel groggy and sleep then not sleep and feel just as groggy...and tired/worn out.

What dose of 5-htp did you have success with?



Correct, Gaba itself doesn't cross the BBB, but picamilon was designed to at least partially correct this issue - at least on paper and through some anecdotal reports that I've seen on insomnia forums, etc. May not be a bad idea to at least try.

What's an optimal dose in your opinion? I'm running a low dose recomp, 300mg test E + Tren E 200mg /wk. Should I up the tren by 150-200mg/wk?

Best thing I've done is go low test high tren. This current run I tried running more standard cycle (1000mg test 500mg tren) and couldn't sleep for shit the first 6 weeks. Switched to 175 test 1000 tren and sleeping much better, almost too much. Still wake up fairly often though. Next time I might try dropping the test out altogether.
 
Just a shot in the dark but what helps me is a full belly. A whey/ Casien shake and greek yogurt before bed help me rest much better than without.
 
Ghrp-2 is helping me in a big way right now.

100mcg pre bed, then 20 min later protein shake with 15g coconut oil and I sleep like a baby.
 
When do you Pin your Tren??

I found that I never had insomnia sides from tren until I pinned late at night.
Couldn't get to sleep to save my life. Even tried melatonin and rubbing one out to my favorite porn with no effect. That usually knocks me right out
Never pinned near bedtime again and never ran into insomnia due to tren.

weed is perfect for me. im using 400mgs of tren enth and wouldnt sleep a wink without it.

This works best for me. I have tried every other combo of sleep scripts and otc sleep aids. Weed has by far given me the best and deepest sleep while on tren.
