My money is on Eugene and Lucille tying the knot

That's my guess.

A few possible hints are:

* Eugene gave Rick directions to make bullets "in case he didn't make it back".

* Abraham and Eugene finally buried the hatchet, with Abraham calling Eugene a "survivor. In this instance, the term "survivor" was a reference to his character--not necessarily length of life--and was the first show of respect from Abraham.

* Rick tried to convince Eugene to stay home (indicating Rick's lack of faith in Eugene's ability to handle himself), but Eugene insisted on coming.

* Eugene's character totally transformed in the last few episodes, and it wasn't until this episode that his transformation into one of the "tough guys" was complete. Therefore, when Negan said, to paraphrase "he took that one like a champ", it would be the crowning and final moment in Eugene's metamorphosis--a way of showing that he had indeed become a man of courage and heart.

I am down to Eugene and Abraham but yet the comics still haunt my mind with Glen- but then again NEGAN seemed to give glen a pass after he went nuts over maggie possibly getting it.

IIRC, you also can't make out a distinct screaming Maggie during the scenes following the initial blow, either. I know Negan gave instructions for everyone to shut up, but I have a feeling Maggie can't hold it in if Glen gets his head caved in right in front of her.

As far as the beat down I think it was Eugene that got his head caved in because he gave that recipe for making the bullets to Rick before he got on the bus. Somehow I think that's going to be instrumental to get out of there huge predicament

Rick is now what Shane was from the get go. Imagine if Rick didn't kill Shane? They'd be a kick ass team!

In some ways, yes, but not in the ways that matter most. Shane would kill his friends to get what he wanted, while Rick would lay down his life to protect his friends. There is a BIG difference between the those two types of people.
