My laptop inputs say inaccessible

It's a 6 month old, mid/low grade Lenovo with Windows 7. They used to work.

I try putting in my Camera Flashcard, My external DVD player any storage device no go. Other USB plugs work. Mouse, external keyboard, internal DVD player all work fine.

It's just when I try to access storage devices.

I am already denied enough inputs in my life as it is.

1. Click on the Start Orb.
2. In the Start Search box type device manager and then press enter.
3. When that opens, is there anything with a yellow triangle with a ! or ? in it?
4. If there is, right click on it the select properties and uninstall. Immediately reboot the computer and let Windows find it and reinstall it.

If none of that works try replacing the driver. Go to the manufacturer’s website of the laptop and look for the tech support or a download link. Then look for drivers for your model.

If that still doesn't work, then the hardware could have gone bad. However, external USB card readers are cheap, try this Newegg link.
