I'll start off by saying that I'm a 43 y/o lifter and have been around for awhile. It's been my ambition for the last couple of years to put on some size and push my body further than it's been in a long time.
In doing so, I kept upping my dosages and adding new compounds all the time. Nothing too extreme, but enough to give me some decent results as well as some pretty good sides. 1gm/week of test at the most, anabolics between 600-800mg/wk and a dbol or adrol burst here and there.
Anyways, my quest to become a big mofo became more and more of an obsession and it started to take it's toll on my marriage. Nothing major, but enough for me to take notice and think more about my decisions. I also have 4 beautiful daughters and I'd like to be around for them, too.
Now I know full and well that I will never become a pro size bodybuilder. #1 I'm too dang old and #2 I do not have the income that it would take to support the drugs and food those monsters must spend.
So, instead of upping my dosages, using more elaborate compounds, etc, I'm going to just go back to the basics and focus more on long-term gains. My cycles will now consist of 300-500mg/wk of test, add an anabolic like deca, eq or tren every 6 months and short oral cycles (3-4 weeks) when the mood strikes.
I think using this mindset and methodology will not only help my relationship with my wife, but will also keep me healthier and happier in the long run.
Just wanted to share.
Much respect,
