Any chance of scripting those setups?
Nothing to realy script actually. You just have to make sure, if you are using an EMC box that you get an EMC version on the Emulex card. Everything is fairly physical labor besides the installation of powerpath. It doesn't take long once the hardware is connected. I wouldn't trust scripting anything like that anyway when you are using a shared EMC back end. I'd rather carve the LUNs manual, as they only take a few minutes, then mount the HBA. Powerpath is fairly easy to use, you just need to make sure you use the newest version or it tends to be buggy. At that point you need to make sure that prior to every time EMC upgrades the firmware that your powerpath version will work. Sometimes there's a caveat too, so you will have downtime, as you will need to drop the clustered shared volume so that you can do the poerpath & driver at the same time. Other times, its just a matter of restarting the service.
