cell phone question

my current plan is about to expire, but i want to go to a (pay as you go) cell phone, my question is can i keep my current number if i switch who my carrier will be?

Yes most companies allow you to do this. Ive carried my number over 3 diff companies.

As long as its with the same company then your chances are very good that you can. As I-A-L said, I also have used a few different carriers and non ever turned me down when I wanted to port my number over. I had a good friend of mine who had a pay as you go phone for about 3 years, and recently she got a monthly plan and they allowed her to keep her number. So I dont see why you cant keep it going from monthly to pay as you go. Good Luck
