Do you think collagen powders like the one from vital proteins actually do anything? I read the reviews and people rave about it. I used to mix it one of my proteins shakes but was never sure if it was worth it.
i used the same powder you're talking about, but i had to double their serving size and take it with a few grams of vitamin c.
also i think it depends on what you want to get out of it. if it's for skin (in my case), i have noticed much better results from tretinoin/sunscreen than from collagen.
if it's for joints, maybe it could move the needle a bit more. maybe it does nothing. can't touch on that, though, since i've never needed help with joints and never sought out collagen to help them.
Long ago people normally ate more collagen. Taking a processed collagen may not be as effective as a more natural source. What the body chooses to do with what it ingests may be different the what the person took it for. Taking large amounts does not mean that your will digest and use it. It will probably not heal a severely damaged joint/cartilage. But slowing degeneration seems to be a likely thing.

This sound like Vietnamese pho lol, tendons, cartilage, some bone marrow and beef tripe. Man, my mouth is watering thinking of it, tough luck I'm 7 weeks into my cut ouch.

I would prefer to get my collagen that way myself, and do on occasion. You can just throw a spoonful of collagen powder into a chocolate protein drink and call it your cheat meal!
