Whoever did this test and anyone using these results to draw conclusions for application is missing a very basic concept. Weights do not stimulate muscles. This is why people who don't train shuold never be in charge of training people. Your brain should be stimulating the muscle to move the weight. The amount of stimuli is not dependent on the amount of weight. You can use a variety of muscles to move a weight in the exact same direction depending on how you use them. The exercises that have lower stimuli are the more difficult exercise that take more time to learn.
