fotos
concerning the last pic posted, don't take pics from a higher angle like that, it makes your legs look small (because of the angle).
Good point Brad. Lenny does this too (great guy, nice physique, don’t
get me wrong . . .) as do so many others; most people actually. I don’t
know if this is a conscious decision. It could be the result of ignorance,
or it could be they are taking the foto themselves as it is in many cases
but not these cases. Regardless, and this is just my opinion, they are
not doing themselves any favors, is really a distorted “illusion” of them-
selves, and is really not very flattering.
I know this is all fun and games now but others remember, when you
are on stage, the judges eye line is not your eye line, is lower in most
cases. And don’t fall prey to comparing others to your “bathroom”
fotos where you look like a monster, and then scratching your head
when you come off stage time, in bewilderment, when you things don’t
come out as planned, not that both of these gentlemen would do so;
they are too level headed for that. Just a word to the wise . . .
Camera angle / location is so important and should not to be discounted
when you are doing progress fotos. (There is board member here that
claims 20’’ arms at ~200 lbs. and a low body fat %, all of which is total
and absolute bullshit even with his “favorable” camera angle.) Do
not use a flash. Direct frontal lighting from a camera mounted flash
has a tendency to wash you out, make you look flat so do not be
alarmed when this occurs and should be avoided.
So . . . don’t let the camera angle fool you. Ideally, fotos, to get an
accurate representation of your physique and proportions, should be
taken at about waist level and not with a wide angle lens, which also
serves to distort things and not in a good way.
Am not knocking anybody here (Lenny or Queefer who are both in great
condition) just trying to elaborate on a point that I hope to be well taken.
Foto questions or concerns, please feel free to PM me. Or if you just want
to tell me to go straight to hell . . . that’s fine too . . .
