I thought I would take this opportunity to let everyone know that I am endorsing www.AlmightyPeptides.com, and I am contributing to this board by sharing my story, images, and experiences. I started competing in 2001 when I won the NABF Super Natural Florida. I went on to win multiple shows in the NABF, Musclemania, NPC, and ultimately earned my IFBB Pro card by winning the Overall at the NPC USA Bodybuilding Championships. Here are a few shots from 2008 right before I did the NPC Nationals, 2011 Pre-Contest before the Dallas Europa, and Phoenix Pro, then a couple of shots of me way out of shape about six years after I retired from competition, and now after I decided to get my fat ass back in shape at 45 years old. Surprisingly, it only took me about four months of total commitment to get myself back in photoshoot shape! In future post, I will share never-before-seen images from 2001 to now so you can see my transformation over the years.

Welcome to ProM 👊 I remember you in magazines I still have some from the mid 2000’s you will definitely get back in awesome condition thx for sharing 💪😎👍

sick physique Mark! What made you decide to retire?
Thanks! It was a few things. In 2006 I was experiencing a lot of back pain and I felt some weakness in my lower back when I would squat. I felt unstable. So my buddy, who is a bodybuilder and a very knowledgeable surgeon suggested that I get an MRI. We discovered that I had 6 herniated disks! 3 in my neck and 3 in my lower back. L3/L4, L4/L5, L5/S1 for the lower. This was a result of my years in the US Army, 3rd Special Forces Group as a paratrooper. We jumped a lot, and our training missions were intense! Sometimes we would ruck march 30 + miles with a 50lb ruck in full combat gear. It took a toll on my spine. I worked around it my entire career but by 2011 it had progressed and become a real problem especially when I dieted down for competition. I was having nerve issues. I decided it was time to take a break and let my body heal. I also opened a retail nutrition store in 2010 and that required a lot of my time. I wasn't sure if I was done but time flew by and I never got back on stage. I really miss it. Now I keep myself in shape to stay fit and young. My focus these days is on regenerative medicine, healing, and anti-aging. That is why I have spent a lot of time in school learning and getting certifications. My focus has been on peptides and how effective they are. I use research tools like PubMed to educate myself.

No free pro cards back then. Were you a Gaspari guy at one point?

OG right here!
You got that right! In 2009 they only gave out two Pro cards at the USA's. The Overall, which I won, and the next best guy. We really had to earn it! I am grateful for those days. I was sponsored by Gaspari for 4 years. It was an amazing experience traveling the country and the world! GOOD TIMES!

Thanks, Durro. Yeah, I hit the scene in 2001 and by the mid 2000's I was getting a lot of press as a rising amateur. I also landed a contract and monthly column with Muscular Development while I was a Gaspari Athlete. Super grateful for all those relationships and support. Hany Rambod was also my coach from 2008 - 2011.
