11weeks out..would like a critique on how things are going..

I've competed for the last 2 years with 2 drastically different styles. Carb cycling one year and just a slow carb reduction the 2nd year. I am blending both of those to a diet that suits what feels best to me. I started at 237lbs and currently weigh around 213-215 in the am.

Id like to get some opinions basically on whether things look to be on track or not. Im leaning out faster than the last 2 years but it was always the last 4 weeks that I had to play catch up from my body being stubborn. Cardio has never been a problem, I wear a monitor and keep it at 130-150 doing intervals on the Stepmill.

Cardio is 30min am and 15pm 6x a week. Thyroid Stimulator is at 50mcg in the am.

Diet for Monday through Saturday is as follows:

#1 50p, 60c, 14f
#2 50p, 60c, 7f
#3 50p, 60c, 7f
#4 50p, 30c, 14f
#5 50p, 30c, 7f
#6 50p, 14f

Saturday is my high rep leg day & cheat meal, heavy legs is on Tues or Wed.
Sunday- 60g carb meal 1 only, regular pro & fat schedule the rest of the day.
Green veggies are in every meal.
Protein sources are eggwhites, tilapia, chicken and whey.
Carb sources are oatmeal, brown rice & Fat is from peanut butter.


Any & all opinions are welcome. :)

honestly you look more like 6 weeks out

Your upper body is coming in quicker than your lower...You could be a tad leaner at this point...but I woundnt really say your behind schedule...everyone comes in differently...I know with me, I hit a point where my metabolism kicks in and I just burn fat like crazy...

Lets see some pics in two weeks and see how much you lean out from now until then...
 
thanks guys, appreciate the feedback. My legs take forever to dial in, the last 4 shows its always been the last 6 weeks until they started looking the way they should.

I've also tended to push fat burners a little too hard in the past, this year Im going to take it easy until I actually need the bump.

Chris- My body seems to be similar in that when i finally turn a corner I start dropping weight like crazy but I haven't hit that point yet. Its been a very slow descent so far.

Tenny what is it that doesn't look right in my diet? After the carb cycling rollercoaster and slow carb reduction diet I made a bit of a hybrid that feels right but I'm open to listen to any ideas.

Last year I stuck with Flax oil as my fat source and eventually grew to like it. I was thinking about switching over to that around 6weeks out so my measuring spoon doesn't get a little top heavy with pb.

I like pb & flax oil for ease of convenience & measuring, what fat sources would you recommend?

yep make sure you're getting omega 3s and some GLA would be a good addition as well (a few grams of evening primrose oil per day).

I second this, don't cut out red meat or salmon, excellent protein/healthy fat sources. Personally, I would rather get most of my fat from animal products, as nature intended fat to be eaten with protein. Absolutely include some primrose oil as well, and nuts/oils aren't bad, but instead of eating lean protein and adding fats from outside sources, why not get it all in one package? Just my opinion. But overall you are looking solid for 11 weeks out.
 
thanks for all the insight guys, I have supplemented with Borage Oil & Omega capsules before so I do have some knowledge on that. I am going to look into pb for fats for meals 1-3, workout and then the fats in meals 4-6 will be from different fat sources. Mac Oil, flax oil and borage are the 3 fats that are enticing due to convenience of measuring.

I'm going to reevaluate adding in red meat at the 8week point. On sundays I have carbs in meal 1 and then its pro/fat the rest of the day. Adding in a round steak meal for at least one of those could prove to be valuable.


Keep it coming everybody, good or bad I'll gladly listen to everybody's opinion.
 
Tenny and Shelby gave you excellent advice regarding fat sources. IMO peanut butter is an awful choice... way too many useless and even counter productive om-6's.

Other than that, I really do think you look GREAT and are right on track. :)
 
I think you're looking great, and would also agree with the others in changing your source of fats, including some Primrose, and adding some salmon and red meat cuts into the diet.
Cardio is a little less that I like, but it depends on your body, so i cannot say that it won't work for you.
Good looking shape, when you lean out I'm sure you will look really good!
 
I've looked into Macadamia Nut oil and will have a few 16oz bottles coming.

My amounts of fat will not be changing per meal with the exception of CLA & Borage oil being added in.

This is how it will look starting this coming Monday(10wk mark):

All my preworkout fats will still come from peanut butter, but post workout meals will be macadamia nut oil. On non training days it will be solely mac oil.

Sundays I do 60g carbs in meal 1 and just pro/fat the rest of the day and will incorporate a round steak meal in for one of those.


Ive been reading up on MCT Oil and was wondering what everyone's stance is on that?

Whats the diff if he is using natural pb. I can see how using omega's are better for health for for a physique change what would make any diff from using mac oil and evoo opposed to all natty PB?
