5 10 180lbs. in shape??

I am new here. I was wondering if I can compete as a novice. I know that I probably need more size even to be a novice, but I can't afford to gain much weight (I have photoshoots for fitness mags, with little time to prepare, so I need to be in top shape almost all the time). I can put on additional 10 pounds but no more.
You can't see my legs here. I am trying to bring them up. Quads aren't bad, but hams and calfs are lacking. That I know. What else are my weaknesses?

I've been lifting for about 4 years (I am 25 yo). Never bulked up in my life. I am natural. I only did clen twice (so I guess not all that natural ;) . Never tried any AAS or anything else.

I am probably going to be taller than anyone in my weight class. Will this make me look a lot less muscular?
What so you think guys. Do i have a chance competing in this form? (maybe a bit bigger? Any suggestions are welcome

Well...

You have a pretty good upper body to be 5'10" and only 180lbs.


BUT


I'm guessing you have some pretty skinny legs, because at that weight it looks as if you are carrying most of it up top.


To compete on any level (pro/am/novice) you will probably need to have better balance between your upper and lower body.

I think by looking at the pics that you have potential and that if competing is something you want to do I'd say that if you continue to progess you will to just fine.

There is plenty of info available here, along with the right people, to help you do just that.

just want to give you some props...you look pretty good for being natural! from those pics i would say back needs the most work...especially lower...some heavy deads outta take care of that in a hurry though:)
 
Yeah you would do fine in Novice, your almost the same size as my little brother. He is in the mid 190s when he competes at 3.5% Natural. He got 2nd in a Novice class of 14 in his first show ( NPC) lower back needs most work.

It's difficult to put mass on legs and stay in shape at the same time. I mean after doing cardio for 45 mins 6 days a week, legs just don't get enough rest to grow. And I eat only about 150-200g of cabs per day. Am I right? And like I said I have to stay in shape all the time. Any suggestions how to put muscles on the legs in this situation?

COMPETITION: AS FAR AS THAT GOES....STRIVE TO BRING EVERYTHING UP TO PAR....OR EQUAL DEVELOPMENT. YOU'VE MENTIONED LEGS...SO BRING THOSE UP.....TOUGH TO DO IF YOU WON'T ALLOW YOURSELF TO GAIN WEIGHT.

BACK IS THE MAIN WEAKNESS I SEE AS FAR AS BODYBUILDING COMPETITION GOES....[SINCE I CAN'T SEE WHAT THE LEGS LOOK LIKE]....I THINK MORE WIDTH...THAT'S TOUGH FOR MANY GUYS/ GALS WITH DOMINANT ARMS....BECAUSE YOU HAVE A TENDENCY TO PULL WITH THE BICEPS....

THINK OF MIKE MATARAZZO...LEE PREIST.....BIG OLE BICEPS ...LESS ON THE BACK AND CHEST.

AGAIN: BRINGING UP LESS DEVELOPED AREAS MEANS ADDING MUSCLE..WHICH, AGAIN..MEANS GAINING WEIGHT.

THAT'S MY OPINION....AGAIN....I THINK YOU LOOK GREAT. :D
