6 Weeks out, what do you think

Hey guy's and gal's. I'm about 6 weeks out from my competition and this will be my second ever. I've been struggling with diet and trying to drop my BF% while trying to retain size. So far this week has been the worst as I have dropped below 200lbs due to the lack of carbs so I played around with the diet and raised the carbs just enough to where I wasn't losing as much. I am 202 with roughly 9% BF. All criticism are welcomed at this point and I'd rather you just be straight forward with me instead of beating the bush. I was planning on being 194lbs with 4% BF, but that my lower as I see that I am still carrying a great deal of BF around the mid-area, glutes, and upper thighs. I also know that my week points are shoulders and arms (I am still trying to get this puppies big, but it's a slow progression). Let me know what you think, thanks.

Last two pics

Last two, and yes I was taking these myself and it was hard. The Side-tri shot I wasn't ready but it was the best I have at the moment

I would say you have abou 10 lbs of Fat to lose....plus any water your holding the last week.

I would stop worrying about the damn numbers and start trying to get shredded. Start suffering now and then if you have any time left once your there add a little kcals back in the week before to fill out a little more.

I would say you should end up on stage around 185 or so

You have good overall size and thickness. No sense addressing weak points because you can't bring anything up before your show, it's all about prep work now.

Bump up the cardio and tighten up that diet! Some folks might argue this, but I think you are a few weeks behind. I like to be where you are now 16- 12 weeks out not at 9 weeks out. DO NOT WORRY ABOUT LOSING SIZE. Conditioning is what wins local and regional shows. The bodybuilder who shows up shredded wins his class, end of story.

good luck and keep up the good work!

Thanks for the advice guy's. I'm not too worried over weight, just more about getting as shredded as I can get. I have bumped cardio to 2x's a day (morning and night) and like I said I have already redone the diet. I've been busting my ass and feel like I am behind and as of the last 6 weeks I haven't cheated (well maybe that one time) but really have been disciplined in my diet and training. Hopefully it'll pay off. Oh yeah, I wasn't really stating my weak points in trying to bring them up, just more or less stating that I know what I lack in certain area's for size. Anyone got any pointers for helping me lose the fat?

*edit-I should have stated my stats: 5'9", 22yo, natural except the fact that I'm on an ECAY stack....just in case you were wondering*

what show you doing???

side tricep

on your side tricep shot, be sure to blow out and keep your stomach tight.

I'm currently scheduled to do:

~Novice Michigan Bodybuilding (Detroit): Doing this before the main show which is in Kalamazoo just try my routines for the first time and get used to the stage again.

~Kalamazoo/Southwest Bodybuilding, Figure and Fitness Championships(Kalamazoo): Did this show last year and really liked it. Lot's of nice people around and it makes for a great atmosphere.

~Capital City Bodybuilding (Lansing): Doing this for S&G's and since I live in Lansing I'd figure I can hold out one more week and see how I stack up with some local competitors

As for the side-tri shot I know about the blowing the air out, but it's kind of hard to take pictures by yourself when you only have 10sec to get the pose and hold. It was the best I had at the time, but will post better pics as the weeks progress.

Isn't the Capitol City show cancelled this year? That's the story going around Kalamazoo anyways. Hans is one of the promotors and he said he hasn't had time todo anything for it. Not sure how true that is.

What do you think your final weight is going to be. As there are some big boys that normally do the Kzoo show. Curious to know where you'll fall in at.

Another thing to take note of, this show is very clicky. You'll have to deal with that as well.

Did you do a skin fold test for the BF%? I would say that your lower than 9% for sure.

Keep up the hard work with the diet.

The Capitol City show is cancelled. I should be in Kalamazoo for the show and I'll be at the Troponin booth.

I'm not sure 'cause I have yet to contact anyone for the Capital City show. I just looked on the NPC site and it was still listed and I know the people that run the Kazoo show also run the Capital City. It's a bummer if it is cancled. My question to you is; how is this show "clicky"? Are you talking about judging or just the fact that it may or may not happen? Do you suggest any other show's that I can go too?

As for the BF% it was done by skin fold, but I just used the error of 4% so I just added it to my actual reading (5.84%) which is roughly 9%. I'm just shooting high so I can work harder to get lower (mental thing I guess).

As far as weight, I was aiming for 194lbs, but around 185lbs seems to be where I'll end up at. I just don't want to go into the middles or the heavies 'cause those are the mutant classes. Last year I remember that the middles where just huge and the LW seemed to be where I want to stay for the moment. I am also not big enough for heavies so the goal is Light Heavies.

My main goal is to get as shredded as I can get (would love to have striated gluts) but it's going to take a lot of hard work and dedication, but I'm all about dedication and hard work.

Sweet I'll see ya there then and hopefully I'll be dialed in by the time it comes.

Cool. I actually prepped the guy that won the middles in 2005 and the guy that won the middles and overall last year.

Yeah I remember him, he was freakin' beast. My friend and I thought he was wearing shoulder pads during weight in, but man oh man were we wrong. Excellent job on preping him and he deserved it. He and a few other's are the reason why I'm scared of middles.

*edit: Wolf, you wouldn't happen to have any pics of the guy would you? I just remember the guy was big*

Which one, the guy from 2005 or 2006?

maybe I was thinking of someone else winning the show. He still looks great though and good job with him. Do you think if I came in completely shredded then I might have a chance?

At smaller shows like that conditioning will win.

Awesome, thanks for the advice. I was worried about losing too much size, but now I know what I want and I got less than 6 weeks to get to my goal. Thanks for all the help. If you can please let me know if there is anything else I need to do as the weeks progress (ie conditioning and what not). Lastly, are you preping anyone for this show again?
