Hey guys, here are a few pics I had done today at the gym. I am currently 5'9" and 226 lbs. I think I need to be a little more defined, but I'm getting there!! If you can resize them you can see alot more vascularity

thanks guys, I'm competing in 3 days. I just started my carb load today. After that I will be switching back to powerlifting for awhile. However I will still hit assistance muscles from time to time and practice bodybuilding dieting. Hopefully I can pack on another solid 10 lbs of lean mass within the next year or so. I would like to try some more synthatek products, synthetine maybe along with these LBA's I keep hearing everyone ranting and raving over. I feel at this point going back to the basics with my training and adding a few good OTC products to my arsenal will help me achieve a better look!!

Also, thanks to Mike too, bro you have no idea how many times i looked at your pics (in a non-gay way of course!) and aspire to look like that. Your physique has perfect balance and I think anybody could look at you and aspire to look like that.

Thanks to all of you. At this point all I can do is hang in there. I started to sodium load towards the end of last week ,and then dropped my salt mid Tuesday as I began to carb. I kept the carbs still somewhat conservative Tues and Wed, probably 250 grams or so, because my plan was to use insulin Wed- Fri to fill out. I started with 5 iu's post workout Wed and had some apple juice afterwards along with a protien bar. Today my partner and I posed hard, about an hour worth of posing, and then I did 8iu's and went and had a pack of starbursts, 2 baked potatoes and a small Hi-C, and then an hr and half later had another 60 grams of carbs from oats and 4 or 5 oz of steak. Tonight I will pop some melatonin and get a long sleep, and then tomm morning I will evaluate, and at that time either do another 3 or 4iu's of slin or back off completely.

And as a pro you'll probably think my plan is nuts too. But here is my plan for tomm. Wake up, evaluate progress. POSSIBLY go another 3 or 4iu's of Humalog in the morning. Drink as much water as I can up until 6 or 7pm, 2 gallons if possible. Go down to the local pizza place downtown and split a large pizza with my buddy (no pepperoni, that just wouldn't be healthy now, maybe pineapple?) Go to weigh ins with my fat cow belly full of pizza and water. Weigh in for super heavy class. Drop water and piss all evening. pop some melatonin and go to bed early(probably a full 8 or 9 hrs of rest) Any time I wake up to piss at night I'll eat some rice cakes. Saturday morning it'll be a light meal of some egg whites, a grapefruit, and some frosted flakes. Back stage I'll throw a salt packet on my tongue and wash it down with a swig or two of red wine. I'm not bringing it down, then down, then down some more, then dry as hell but flat as fuck, never was my plan

You are not even lean now??? Drink until 7pm Friday night-2 gallons? Sodium load Friday night? Piss all evening? Melatonin? Salt packet and red wine? Dude, you are joking right? I guess if you are not wanting to be DRY, your plan is perfect. Please be careful........please

No, I'm not joking at all. Here is my logic behind the gameplan. I started the sodium load towards the end of last week because my carbs were lower and I felt the salt would help me stay a little more filled out. I took my carb intake from 150 grams/day to 200 grams on Tues (I dropped off salt this day as well) and took my water up to almost 2 gallons. Yesterday my carb intake was around 300 grams, today its about 350 grams or so. I backed off my water a little bit and just pretty much did what my body was telling me. I drank when I was thirsty. I couldn't tell you if it was 1 gallon, half a gallon, whatever. I've been pissing my ass off non stop since Tues. Now, I've been conservative with my diet, hard on it the past couple months w/ out a cheat. The worst thing I ate was a grapefruit. I know how my body is going to react bro, it's going to take that pizza and my muscles are going to soak it right up. so when every other competitor gets jack shit for sleep because of nerves, hunger, whatever, I'll be resting a full 8-9 hrs (you always look leaner when you rest more since most of the bodies metabolic functions take place with a good nights rest) and wake up looking straight swole. Whatever water gets soaked up because of the sodium in the pizza, well I'm just going to live with it. To me its a trade off, look stringy and dry, or big and pumped and feeling good while everybody else is miserable. Phil,we are both smart enough to know I will not win the overall. And I'm smart enough to know I'll never be a pro. But I'm very satisfied with the gains I've made and being this size for my height.

Listen, I respect the hard work and dedication it must take to be a pro. I know what I've been through and I'll never come close to where you got. My goals are different than some people's. To me, if I can come in better than I did the last time then I'm doing enough to be satisfied enough to stick with it and work harder. Maybe I'll get enough money together to try your LBA's sometime. Maybe that would solve everything

No harm no foul bro. Sometimes it is hard to understand the way people type and I may have taken it the wrong way. I'm not really new to this, I did my first show back in 2001 and got 2nd to last in the novice heavyweights, hahaha. I looked like crap, I look at the pic of my first show and just laugh my ass off. I've come a long ways since. This will be my 6th or 7th show. The reason I'm doing all of this, as unorthodox as it may look, is because I've done the same crap every time and it just does not work for me. I would low carb, high protien, moderate to higher fats on the low carb days. Then Sat morning of my shows I would wake up early and shitload, it was always too late and not enough time to fill out. Then last year I tried keeping everything clean straight through, I looked absolutely terrible. I was flat, sucked up, depleted, you name it. So I'm really basing this on my past experiences. so this time I hit the cardio hard, dieted hard, but then eased up a little the past 2 wks or so so i would not be flatter than a pancake AGAIN. I'm just thinking that if I did a little more ahead of time, before the show day, I can look better and achieve a look more desirable to me. Thats the reasoning behind it all. I'm not a nutritionist or chemist, but I've done this enough now to know what DOES NOT work for me,hahaha. Anyways, you seem as if your a very knowledgable guy and the people you have trained show for it. Take care
