MODS im hoping you let this stay, as itl get the most attention here and I could use it.
Thinking of a move to Miami within next 3-6 months. I have substantial experience in management for training in two major companies, setting company bench marks and topping the companies in both instances in the NYC market. Obviously, i have also had success personal training in the past as well. My resume is not too shabby, not to toot my own horn.
The only two gyms i know of down there that are also big in the NYC market, David Bartons and Equinox. David Bartons is known as a training/gay gym and for the most part sell personal training memberships. Equinox is as high end as they come. I am looking to work in a high end gym, preferably not a Golds or something similar, but for the right $ anything is possible.
Can some of you give me insight into the market and what is to be expected down there. How competitive it is (both for positions and clients). What typical rates are (NYC management takes close to if not over 100k pretty consistently if you are good at your job, while trainers average $40+ an hr).
Also, I am sure there are "Miami Gyms" that do not reach out of Florida that are high end or along those lines. If you could name some of them and give me some insight into them before i research it would be helpful. NJ has The Atlantic Club...there is only two and it is as prissy, rich and coddling as they come....and they pay for it.
Any help is useful. Thank you
