Can HGH regrow damaged cartilage?

About 5 months ago, while doing heavy leg presses I felt a "pop" in my bad knee.(old football injury)..it swelled up and hurt like hell so I stopped training legs for over a month until it improved. It has never returned to 100% and the Doctors/physical therapists only f##king answer is for me to stop training legs and save my knee for retirement. Screw that, right!? So three weeks ago I hurt my good knee just walking up some stairs...SHIT! Long story, short I'm frustrated and pissed b/c my knees hurt, i can't train to failure, and the doctors say scoping out the torn cartilage will only lead to early onset osteoarthritis (bone on bone). They say stop training legs! They don't understand my NEED to squat (when I die my wife has instructions to bury me w/ my knees wrapped up so I can hit quads w/ Jesus). Anyway, for now I'm trying to train wisely and w/ patience. Does anyone w/ experience using HGH have any insight to the claims that it can repair damaged cartilage? Any advice on how to train around this?

what i have been told...

At a gym where I trained a few years back there was an anesthesiologist that also trained there. He told me there is a TON of research being conducted on "regrowing" cartilage on the bone. So far… nada. It seems that the most promising area right now is stem cells. He told me that whoever comes up with something is going to be a very wealthy, wealthy person or company. Think about all the millions of people that suffer from crippling osteoarthritis… if HGH truly regenerated cartilage on the bone, or there was even a spec of something to that, every one of these people would be on HGH therapy in a second.

HGH is like deca, you may get joint relief, but this is due to increased fluid retention in the joint, not from regenerating cartilage on the bone. Come off your regimen, and you are right back to square one. My advice is take care of the cartilage you have with proper training technique and supplementation. The cartilage on the bone is paper thin, literally. Don't waste it, because for now, when its worn away, its gone for good. Then you are left with either dealing with the pain and lack of mobility or joint replacement.

As far as squating, the only advice I can give is when this pain settles down, don't squat "ass to the grass". Stop when you hit parallel. This puts much less stress on the knee.

i have shot knees and really like the OTC supp Cissus (primaforce or USP brands are good). seems to keep inflammation and pain down some.

yes cissius is amazing glucosamine +msm too

there are many aas that induce collagen synethesis but not sure if its enough to regrow, GH seems to be this magic compoun capable of many positvet hings

A friend of mine tore his calf muscle and the doc said it would need surgery. He wasn't sure he wanted surgery cuz he was told it wud leave a drastic difference in shape and size from both calves. He had a little over half a kit of serostim that he used over a couple weeks before he had to see the doc again. He ended up not needing surgery. His calf is a lil smaller than the other one still but nothing like the doc had said surgery would do. I don't know medically if this is possible or have any literature to back what I'm saying just something I witnessed first hand. His was a torn muscle though, not cartilage.

I can't recall but i remember seeing a documentary about IGF-1. The real stuff. A bunch of university PHd's were experimenting with it in regards to tissue repairs like tendons, ligaments and cartilage. It was very promising indeed. They used the IGF-1 directly in the tissue and not just inject sub Q. The results they were getting were very good. of course it was lab rats used as subjects, but word got out on some of their findings and half the University football team was knocking on the lab door offering themselves up as lab rats!!! Worth looking into!

You can give Prolotherapy a try it has worked wounders for my shoulder

Definately look into Prolotherapy. My wife is going to have it done to the discs in her back. They are degenerating and the doc she talked to said she will be fine and they will be normal after the procedure. 200 docs in the country do it. In North Brunswick NJ is one of the best. They use a combonation of Stem cells, Blood Platelets and Growth hormone and inject it into the discs, cartlidge, ligaments or tendons. The Chiro she saw had it done to both his wrists and one knee and he's been pain free and had zero issues in about 15yrs. She has an appointment next tuesday to discuss it with the doc that does it.
