Can igf-1 be suspended in benzyl alcohol!?

I just seen a site selling igf-1 suspended in benzyl alcohol... is this possible? id think such a harsh solvent would destroy the igf but maybe not? im guessing it was in replace of acetic acid?

I dont think BA is really that harsh in terms of reactivity, acetic acid is definitely harsher at least

a lot of suppliers also use this method, not just RP so there must be something to it.
Even though personally id stick to lyophilized just to be safe

well im saying i get igf from china which doesnt come with AA so if i can use benzyl alcohol in replacement i would...

Just what I have read but people say that the Chinese IGF is not stable in BA. GroPep suspends theirs in BA though.

The AA is easy to make anyway. There are a lot of write-ups on how.

Actually that is incorrect CW. Gropep has always gone with 10mM HCL...


Per the novozymes/gropep website:

PREPARATION OF REAGENTS

Novozymes GroPep IGF Peptide: 1 x 100 µg Receptor Grade IGF-I (chicken, bovine, human, porcine, or rat) or IGF-II (chicken, bovine, human, porcine, or rat) (lyophilized)

1. Remove the metal cap from the vial and carefully loosen the bung to equalize the slight vacuum within the vial to prevent any loss of peptide upon opening.

2. Add 100 µl of 10 mM HCl acid to the vial. Ensure that all the peptide is dissolved before proceeding.

Distilled white vinager will offer same effect, I think. I ahve also been told that as long as it is kept in fridge you can just mix with BAC water(similar to GH). any other thoughts on this.

Distilled white vinegar is AA. But you have to mix it with distilled water in the correct ratio and filter it. Do not inject straight vinegar.
