Cpap Masks, What to get ?

So got a cpap for the first time, im on my own and the mask that was with the machine is a pure nasal mask and that doesnt work for me, so which do you have ? any tips in regards to cpap ? its a resmed airsense 10.

just buy a face mask, I didn't manage to sleep in a nasal mask either

I tried the nasal mask, but I have a deviated septum, so it didn't work well. I tried the Amara Full Face, but I just couldn't get used to it. I tried for about 2 months but couldn't get used to either mask.

I actually preferred the nasal pillows over the masks. I tried the mask and my face would get too hot and I could never get comfortable wearing it.

I also have a beard and use a nasal pillow as well as a chin strap to help keep my mouth closed.

Super comfortable. It has memory foam so you won't get the line contortions on the face.

Agreed. The first time I used the nasal pillows I freaked out...couldn't get it off me fast enough. I used a full nasal mask for a long time but then gave the pillows another shot and now that's the only thing I'll use.

On the topic of CPAP, does anyone else wake up in the morning or middle of the night with a distended gut full of air? It seems to happen randomly and especially likely if I have not worn it for a couple of nights....just wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

Aerophagia occurs when air from a CPAP enters the esophagus and goes into the belly, rather than the airway and into the lungs. This can cause gas pains and distension of the stomach. It is common and can happen to anyone who uses CPAP.

Yes this is common. More so with mouth breathers

Pricey but worth it. You might need to see what you can handle.

Personally, i have a crazy deviated septum so i cannot use a nasal mask. Been using a full face mask for a couple years and it has been great.
Well worth it.

I'm a full face mask guy. One of the best, if not the most highly regarded especially for high pressures, is the Fisher & Pikel (spelling?) Vitera, which is new, or Simplus. I actually use Vitera with Simplus strap system as the Vitera material in one spot makes my head break out. Like the mask better though.

I use the nasal mask. I also prop my head at an angle so my chin is lower toward my chest to keep my mouth closed.
