Do you compete?

I just hit the stage again after 11 years. When I competed back then I did bb'ing, figure didn't exist yet back then. This time I crossover-ed and did both. I guess I wanted to see where I would fare better at. I know in my heart that I wouldn't be competitive in bb'ing at the National level, but I was curious how I would place at the State level. I won the Novice Figure overall, Open Class A winner, Masters winner and was the Open LtWt. winner.

I will be going to the USA's in '07 in Figure. A big show so I have my work cut out for me.
 
The BF wants to see me on stage. Truthfully, don't think I have the genetics or shape for it. I told him I'd give him 12-weeks to diet me down...we'll see what that yields...

That's cool! You really never know until you diet down and see what's underneath! I felt the same way. When I look at my before pics--I remember thinking....No way. Can I really do this?

I do in figure only stepped on stage once with a less then steller finsh. I am getting ready for my 2nd one at the moment.
 
I've only competed in bb for 6 yrs. All NPC, but I can't seem to get past 2nd place. I know my legs need work, so I've been hitting them hard lately.

I didn't do a competition this year due to a shoulder injury, and I decided to take a vacation. I'm dieting for my cruise in Oct. :)

Oh man Sassy. Sounds exactly like me! Before my comp last month, I competed back in the early 90's and placed 2nd every single time. I got the "best poser" trophy quite a lot, but it was never the same as winning. So...3 years of hard training (was out of the gym for 6 whole years!) got me to where I am today. Finally a win. lol.

Hey ladies, I'm 12 weeks out from my next set of shows. I did my first one in April of this year with two more to follow in the same month. I did much better than I'd ever hoped. Now I'm training to keep the streak going. Just started dieting again on Tuesday, I'd been very bad in my time off and hope everything comes in as expected. Feels like I'm starting from scratch again. As for thinking you'll never come down well...I use to be a 176lb shot putter in college and got down to 135 on stage.
 
I have a friend who is 8 weeks out from her first figure right now. Just went to see another friends first figure a couple of weekends ago, and went to ANOTHER friends first figure in July. It's all around me! lol

I've been considering competing and just today started to really focus again on diet. I'm around 12-13% at the moment, but it's no where near what I need to be to be stage ready. I want to do BB - I'd def be a lightweight. The thought of being on stage is so nerve racking to me that I just don't know if I'm willing to go thru with that part of it. I can handle the diet and training, but the stage........I don't know about that........:confused:

How exciting BC! I can't wait to watch your body transform! If you decide not to start a journal....at least for us ProMuscle girls.....progress pictures would be awesome!

You can do it SC! I'm bascially a really shy person and heck the thought of me going on stage and performing a routine was NOT something I ever thought I would do!

We're never ready at 12 weeks out....but I promise that if you are on a good nutritional prep plan....come show day...you will be stoked and more than amped to get on stage and strut your stuff!!!

Thanks for the encouragement. I would like to know how it feels to actually win one. :)

Thanks, I've got major chicken legs. I'm training the heck out of them right now. They've actually making some progress. I've noticed the sweep in my quads and the tear drop starting to develop.

Yeah on sweep and tear drop. It'll come, just be patient. That is what will build your legs tho', hard, heavy and intense training. What does your training routine look like?

I'll post some pics soon, in member's photos. Probably just add on to the exsisting ones. Gotta wait till a little more of the Louisiana trip wears off, if ya know what I mean. I feel like a fatty McButterpantts. It seems like things are coming in differently, and I just dieted down a little while ago, time and stadiums will tell....
