Hmm this is an interesting thread.....Sometimes I get red swollen and hot spots but they go away on their own.....how exactly do you tell if its cellulitis?
about 2 years ago i had this in my leg everything you had i did also including the goose bumps... my stupid ass waited until the swelling got all the way down to my knee and made it impossible to bend the knee. doctor gave me IV of antibiotics 3 days in a row and oral for 2 weeks straightAnother thing I noticed when I had my case was that the skin was not only red, a bit swollen, painful, and hot to the touch but it also looked like I had goose bumps on my skin. It looked like my skin was actually cold and had goose bumps.
Once the infection gets bad enough you get a high fever and it may become blood bourne, and then it spreads to other parts of your body.
As Thor mentioned, I had a pretty good case of cellulitis a little over a year ago. I posted a thread about it. Painful and pretty nasty looking, but they caught it quickly and treated me with antibiotics. You'll be fine. Smart move going to the doctor though. Some guys choose to wait it out, that's when they run into problems.
