Alright this is to Vander or anybody that would know how this goes, but are there good fitness jobs out there that pay good money?? Besides pro-bodybuilding? I mean dont get me wrong I love bodybuilding but Im tryin to be realistic here , I know I have as much of a chance of finding a dinosaur walking around in my backyard as I do being a pro bb. Does personal training pay that good or does it just depend on where you are? If any of yall have any good ideas Id appreciate it alot because I need some change around here bad...

the answer you should have the mlost often is working as a personal trainer

I am a national sales manager for a sports nutrition company. I have 17 distributors and an inside sales force. The distributor run thier own business carrying my line as well as others. Some of these guys make huge money. My inside guys have a base salary of 35k and a uncapped commission plan. The average guy makes 50k.

personal trainer sucks, yes you can make money, but you going to work from morning till night time non stop.i did that for about 4 years i had a lot of clients and some of them payed me under the table some of them normale gym clients, did i made money, yes.
its so many things to it,you need to know do you want to work for yourself or the gym.if for yourself you need to find a gym where you can bring your clients or maybe you can use your clients homes, maybe they have they own home gym,and on and on....but if you go with the gym,you need to fing a good one, because one way or another you'll be fucked lol, trust me i know lol.
one more time you need to know what do you want!!!

Depending on how much $$$ you have to begin with, why not buy a gym franchise? Around the NYC area you can some nationally-recognized gyms for as littla as $150K down and a net worth of $500K. You can even pool a bunch of investors together to scrap up those figures.

A good buddy of mine opened a gym about 3 years ago and he's now opening his 5th location. It's a worthwhile thing to do...

personal training!

As far as personal training goes...it all depends on you. Just like anything else. How motivated are you and what are your specific goals? I am in the personal training business myself and do quite well. I live here in the midwest though, so people are less prone to take care of themselves like they do in warmer climates. As far as out west..such as phoenix area. There are all kinds of opportunities....but you gotta get your name out there. I have contemplated on moving out that way for some time. I own my own business therefore I keep all of my training money. Most gyms will take at least 50% of your money. Unless you can work out some kind of deal with the gym like a subcontractor..it will take a while to get a steady enough clientele to go out on your own. Good luck! By the way, make sure you get a good certification also cuz without that, most companies won't give you an opportunity, even if you know your stuff. :)

...

i used to go to homes on the north shore of LI (sands pt, bayville, etc)
and charge $90 per session..

sessions were 45min...
i allowed multiple people per session for an additional 35$

i routinely worked from 4:15 am till around 10am m-s

i then sold it to a buddy of mine who did even better than i did..

i got sick and tired of training old whiney jewish women that were 45 and tried to fuck me...constantly....showing up at their door at 5:30am in a night gown claiming they forgot i was comming and they just woke up, yet they had their hair done and a full face of makeup....when on other trainign days they had not makup or hair and wore sweats...

GERM - No MILF's in your group? Some older women I see at the mall, around town, etc. make me harder than Cialis!

I love an older, rich, hot, woman...

When you fit a certain look people will want to look just like u and pay for your advice and time , i dont think its so much being huge its just looking good and sharp that will and can land u a few bucks.

I for one do in home training where i train a client who has there own gym and alot of money lol they will shell out 120 per hour for me thats a normal fee for in home training ,it also helps to live here in my area and its always hot here so people tend to want a leaner more muscular look . but when your surrounded with wealthy people and hang out with a few word gets around and before you know it u have a few high solid paying clients , i dont do personal training for the public only for those who will pay u 3k in advance its the only way to go cause most people now days will bail out on ya in the 1st month lol .

lol wish I would get lucky enough to grab an oppurtunity like that.....another thing I was thinking of though was opening up an online custom t-shirt shop with workout clothes & crap like that with designs made by me. I have a somewhat artistic background so I figured this would be the best route if it was more like a second job. But I dont know these are all just ideas

So did you do any of them??? :D

..

nope, that would have been bad for business...

i fuck enough shit up without fucking up biz opps as well. :D

Ive been doing PT for about 18mo. If you are lazy (Im somewhat guilty) and dont market yourself well, you wont do too good. If you can get 7 clients and do each 3x wk youd work only 20hrs wk (4hrs ED) and can make $35-40k. Thats in a club-if you do some under the table (or at their home/your home) thats where you make good $ because you dont have to share it with the club you work for. Im having a hard time doing that-my PT director is a green rookie and has no idea whats up. If he sees you training someone and you dont submit that for pay in the computer-he is asking questions. My old PT director was cool. He would say-split it up. Do 16 sessions for the club plus 16 sessions under the table. Saves the client money-makes you more money-still makes the club some money.
This is the best time of year for PT, and you can build your client base and hope to turn it over through the slow times (late summer thru early winter).
