during workout i felt a dull but kind of long pain go thru the upper middle of my back and it actually kind of winded me some what and when i would breathe in deep i could feel it. its almost like when u breathe in and u get those sharp pains in ur chest, it kinda feels like that but in my back and more dull but it makes me short of breath. could this be a pulled muscle? anyone else exp this or something like it ever? :confused:

arms and barbell curls, it was weird bc i didnt feel myself sway or sling up the weight, it almost like i felt it on the way back down
 
I strained a muscle in my back years ago doing chest work on a machine. I know what your talking about. Whenever I took a a deep breath, or even a small breath in, I would get a sharp pain right next to my shoulder blade. I actually got a cortizone shot for it and rested it a month and resumed lifting after that.

I have the same prob. Mine has kept getting re injured over the years. They have little to no strength, and are just scar tissue and sinue now.. My shoulders and traps take on all the brunt of the loads which causes even more probs.
Maybe get into a Physical therapist, chiro/massage also. Definitely get a few opinions. It is NOT a fun prob to live with day and night for years.
 
thanks guys for the input, woke up this morning and it was stiffer then shit, im about to hit the gym now and do shoulders, we will see what happens, thanks again bros
