ok I buy boneless skinless chicken breast tenderloins ,package is just over 1lb, 1.02 pounds, now after being cooked how many grams of protein does that give you, I know you lose a little in water that's why im trying to figure how much it yields after cooked

ive just started to get in these chicken breasts and if my math is correct that gives me over 100 grams of protein, it cost me 2.73$ for that 1lb package ,just need someone to confirm it lol

its about 100....

probley alittle less.

dark meat has even less.

The protein doesn't disappear when you cook it.

16 oz which is a pound turns into 12 oz cooked. That's about 80 grams of protein.

I did and each time it gave me different numbers, different websites

You can safely assume that 1/4 of your raw, lean, boneless meat is protein, be it chicken, turkey, beef or fish. Even octopus, shrimp or ostrich wouldn't be very far away.

The general measure I follow is 24 grams of protein per 4oz uncooked chicken.

How the f*&^ do you guys mix metric and imperial like this?

It boggles my mind.

its measure and weight bro...

its measures 24grams of protein per 4ozs of meat.

which is about right btw...

my rule of thumb was always 1lb..?? 100grams

Both are units of mass..

so how else do you measure protein...???

how much mass is 24grams of protein..???

according to my math skills....24grams equal .8oz....lol

You stay in your chosen system.

100g of chicken has 25g of protein (or 20 or whatever). I don't really understand why you guys use grams for protein either, since you never use grams for anything else in your lives.

It's like mixing feet and kilometers or tons and pounds in the same sentence. It's mind boggling.

so like i said....how OTHER way do you measure protein...???

we use grams to measure carbs...fats...medications....WTF

lol i think you guys are confused....he used ozs...as the weight.

and ive never herd of measuring protein anyother way other than grams.

Yes, exactly...

It's just strange for us metric people that you guys use metric for a few things and imperial for everything else. It's just not consistent.

I mean, if I give you a stone or something you can't guess it's weight in grams, can you? If I give you a glass of juice you can't guess it's volume in ml. So, when you say that there's such grams in such oz of something it's like beyond crazy for all of us who don't use imperial. It's comparable to "I'm 110kg, need to lose 20 pounds". Does that make sense to you?

lol....theres no other measurement for protein...

i believe its a different measurement for imperial.
(used in a different way)....i really don't know.

i believe there is grams by weight(mass) and volume.

100grams by weight is 3.5ozs......which is only 20 grams protein.

LMAO

who fucking cares
