I've never had problems with hypoglycemia, but I noticed the more muscle I have gotten the more sensitive I've had to low blood sugar. The worst is when I'm leaning down...I have to carry glucose tabs with me all the time. I also make sure that I have some fruit or fruit juice in my house. I know it's about to hit me because at first my lips start to get numb...then I start getting light headed and shakey.....4-6 glucose tabs and maybe a little juice and I'm good again.

Does anybody here have problems with hypoglycemia? I'd like to read some responses on it and hear other peoples experiences.
 
I have those tendencies. I just make sure I eat on time and eat only complex carbs. Oatmeal works great for me and keeps me going a long time with no dips.
 
I had the same problems, not anymore. I learn to eat about every 2-3 hours. Brick is right, oatmeal will go a long way, don't forget some fruit in your diet.
 
SAME HERE

i've had it for about 20 years, I actually fainted years ago and almost broke my nose, at the hospital they said make sure you eat every 2 or 3 hours cuz you had low blood sugar and thats why you fainted. I HAVE to eat on schedule and watch my diet, I have had some very bad incidents with it while driving and such.ALWAYS keep protein bars and juice in my truck now.
 
Have you taken a glucose tolerance test to verify you have hypoglycemia? I'm only asking because the symptoms associated with hypoglycemia can also be indicators of other diseases.

I suffer from hypoglycemia and as others mentioned the key is complex carbs and to eat many small meals. I also never eat carbs without combining it with protein. The only time I seem to be able to consume simple carbs without my blood sugar going down is with my PWO shake.
