I am still working on my posing. Any advice on posing would be great. I have 3 more weeks to go.

Are you sure you will be ready in 3 weeks? Why not pick a show you can be ready for? How many pounds out do you think you are? What is your diet like right now?

I picked the last show of the season I have been dieting since June I was going to do one in October but wasn't ready for it. I am not waiting tell next season to get my feet wet. I think I have about 5 or so pounds of fat left in me then water weight. It is my first comp and so what ever happens it will be a learning experience. I don't think I am that far off the mark. It is a level one so pretty much all or most of the girls have never competed before either.
 
That green 2-piece is a nice color for you.

It looks really good with your skin coloring! :)

I agree im liking that emerald green look with your skin tone , hey what color is your hair that matters alot .

As for doing the show well if its for fun and learning i say do it and see what happens win or lose youll know what must be done next season , But like Phil said if your serious and want to place your best i do beleive youll need to lose at least 10+ lbs so maybe 5- 6 more weeks would work from this point.
 
Im gonna go with Phil and Vander. And like vander said if its for fun and just to "get your feet wet." Then go right ahead but i think your holding more than 5lbs of fat. Dont take this in the wrong way, please we all just think you would place better and enjoy it more if you did well. Once again like Vander said 5-6 more weeks of hard dieting and cardio would do you good. As far as for your posing, try to make it more of a comfortable look, you look so stiff and rigid holding your poses. But i dont compete in womens so i know nothing about it. Hope you do well if you decide to do it, wish you the best of luck
 
I agree with the boys. What does your diet look like? Have you jacked your cardio up to 2x a day? What is your weight training like? 6 x a week?
You need to get serious and you may make it but you must jack it up!

You can do the show for experience, but if you do not go through the experience of getting lean and able to compete for a high placing, then you are truly missing the experience.I think you need to lose at LEAST 20 pounds.
 
I have been doing cardio twice a day for nearly 3 months 6 days a week 45-60 minutes am and pm. Lifting has been 5 times a week each muscle group hit hard just changed it up to lifting 6 times a week each muscle twice a week.

Day 1 AM biceps cardio PM Chest & ABS more cardio and posing practice.
Day 2 AM legs cardio PM shoulders & ABS more cardio and posing practice.
Day 3 AM triceps cardio PM back & ABS more cardio and posing practice.
rest repeat

Diet I have been doing carb cycling.

2 Low carb days
Breakdown
Total Calories: 1417
Fat: 49 439 33%
Carbs: 40 94 7%
Protein: 197 788 60%

Carb up day
Breakdown
Total Calories: 1606
Fat: 40 363 24%
Carbs: 156 525 35%
Protein: 151 604 40%

As for actual content in food chicken breast, lean steak, egg whites, tuna or salmon are my main protien sources, carbs green beans, brown rice, oats, fat EFA's, almonds and ANPB. I eat every 2-3 hours small portions.


The scale has been moving real slow for the last 2 weeks. I tried last week doing cardio for 2 1/2 hours a day total but that didn't help only lost 1 lb. Before the recent slow down I had been losing at least 2 lbs a week. I dunno if I am running out of drive been dieting for so long. Since around June I started at 184 and am down to 150 as of this morning 5'7.


Vander my hair is a medium auburn.

I really didn't think I was that far off the mark. I guess everyone has been blowing smoke up my ass. I appreciate the honest feedback.
 
these are the best boards to get criticism from- we do not know you personally so we can critique you as we feel is necessary- your loved ones and friends will blow smoke up your ass- I agree with the posts- if you want to win you got to dial it in longer and be leaner- but if you want to do it for fun do it- I personally train to win and will not go in if I am not ready -keep us updated tho
 
I would get rid of the oats and brown rice and go strictly veggies. You are at a platue and need to drop cals. Try a 100 for now. As your bodyweight drops you need to adjust cals.
Make sure your rest between sets is 30 secs or less, try doing giant sets also.

This AM I was 150 I am 5'7 my bf % not sure. The guy that was helping me has been MIA. It is just a friend that competes so I wasn't paying him or anything can't bitch to much about him being MIA.
 
184 down to 150 Is a GREAT improvemnt.
I dont think your friends or family are blowing smoke up your ass....
Im sure they see changes and are very impressed.

I know Id never want to get out on a stage and pay to do a show
unless i knew I had a pretty good chance of winning it...even still then
imo theres not much to win...For me it would to prove it to yourself that you can do it.... Either way show or no show,win or lose.. you should be proud of
yourself and Just keep on keeping on. goodluck,

Thought you`d like a girls opinion as well.
First of all I think you need to be much, much leaner. It is no excuse that this is your first show. You want the judges to get the best impression possible, don`t you?? You should try to stand out from the rest. And by the way, from the pic you posted, the other girls looked a little bit leaner than you.. I`m not trying to put you down or anything, but I know what it takes. It looked like you got really nice legs, but you need much more muscles in your upper body to get symmetry. You also need to work on your back-posing.


Remember you just have to give whatever it takes !!

Agreed.

I think you should have a break from diet for 2 weeks, let your body recover, then start again, a different diet, like the one I have in my Article, or ketogenic, etc, and aim for another show.
There's no shame in pulling out because you mistimed the preparation.

My friend that helped me this weekend is also going to give me a hand next weekend with posing. I know I really need to work on flaring my lats for the back poses.
